Hmm... Where have I heard that before?

I don't know. I don't really care because, unlike my specific accusation against ExExpat, that he personally is attempting to make government response to Ebola on US soil political, when clearly it is not, that has nothing to do with anything I have said in this thread.

Interesting you should consider Rick Perry responsible but I don't think he has the power. assets and wherewithall to close the borders of Texas anymore than the POTUS could close the US borders.

Having said taht however, your hysteria is on point: unfounded, illogical and sophomoric. Voi la! Trifecta.

This is just one of what will be many cases of "collateral damage" due to this administration's " Open Borders " policy! It is totally pathetic when you are willing to sacrifice a nation's health just to advance your agenda. There is no way possible our hospital system can cope with this virus if it gets a foothold in the USA. We might have the facilities to treat these cases but we do not have enough of these facilities to treat large numbers of infected patients. It is really stupid to think that we are immune to third world diseases just because we have a good health care system, anyone with a speck of common sense knows that even a race-horse can be run to death! We do not allow rabid animals to be brought into this country, even though we have a rabies vaccine and require pets to be vaccinated, in the fear of causing a rabies outbreak, so why would we allow people with viruses for which NO proven and widely available vaccine exists to enter freely into our country? It is sad state of affairs when more medical information is required to bring a pet into this country from any western country than a visitor from a disease-ridden third world country.

Perhaps we should send someone down to Liberia find out which embassy employee is selling visas then! Unless he won the DV Lottery or was issued a humanitarian visa he should not have been issued a visa. If he applied used the same bio information in China, Philippines, Russia, or any other country that has a high rate of visa overstays he would have been denied! You can bet if someone is selling visas they will be getting very rich very fast.

Perhaps we should all give in to hysteria and run around like chickens with heads cut off. Perhaps a meteor will hit Earth tonight.

However it might be far more productive if we learn from what mistakes were made in Dallas and strive not to repeat them anymore. Perhaps we should use scientific method to address a dire situation. Perhaps we should act like rational creatures.

So many possibilities...

So, lets parse this out.

The known factors:

1. There is a a deadly infectious disease in West Africa that is contained only by isolation and extremely cautious protocol for outfitting and decontamination.

2. A complacent idiot in the White House with a pen and a phone decides America if fully prepared to allow people who may or may not be infected with this deadly infectious disease to travel to the US.

Brilliant by any standard.

The deniers will struggle with this one. It's gonna be hard to blame Bush

You kill a snake fastest by chopping off it's head! Verify and secure your visa sources first, it is the embassy's fault to begin with by issuing this man a visa when he was very clearly high risk for overstaying. It is not Dallas's fault they are the city where he was destined to roam around and die!

I think the visa issue should be done regardless. I am sure there are violations in many places. It makes for a good red herring, but not for this topic however.

I agree that is it no more Dallas' fault than it is yours or mine. Blaming Rick Perry for what happened in his state under his watch, would be illogical.

We saw how Emory did it in Atlanta. They did it right and we should be looking at their protocol, and model it around the country.

Prog protocol now is so desperate to where some of them actually defend 0bola to enable infected people to come to the United States to infect others. Don't worry, you will only feel a little pinch. Course, that little pinch may be your wife, or your husband, or your child's life. It's okay because the dear leader says it's all good.

Did you appose the repatriation of the 4 health care workers who were returned to the US in the full knowledge that they had the disease for treatment? Quite. Spreading uninformed hysteria to make out that Obama is failing the US on this issue is just nonsense. The Liberian man did not break any US laws, the US is not going to stop flights in and out of West Africa and suggesting that Obama thinks it's 'all good' is quite frankly rubbish. What is being said is, that the current risk of a mass Ebola outbreak in the US is extremely small. However, you may want to take on board the fact that if the current spread of the disease in West Africa continues unabated, the risk for a mass Ebola outbreak in the US will increase greatly, regardless of what border measures the US may take. Get them facts on board and you might face this crisis head on. I doubt you will though, it seems it's a lot more fun to play games with the name Obama than actually take the crisis seriously and address it where it's going to matter most.

This makes perfect sense in your world.

Addressing the disease at source does make the most sense, yes. That's what the WHO have been saying for quite some time. If there is a mass outbreak of Ebola in the US, it will not be because Obama stopped allowing US planes to operate in and out of West Africa, even if he could, which is a bit dubious given that these are private companies you are asking Obama to interfere with. ;)

For the record, do not assume anything more from the link posted to the CDC was anything other than taking issue with a pointless discussion as to what is and what is not an epidemic. I neither agree nor disagree with the content of the article. Like most Americans i could care less what you call it. The point is that it's very dangerous, easily transferred to others, and has a high probability of killing anyone it infects.

So basically, you joined a pointless discussion to clarify something you don't care about by posting information from a source that you think is incompetent.
