The irony of it all is that he might be still alive had he sought care back in Africa. When it comes to Ebola - or any viral infection for that matter - time is of the essence and if you start treatment early you improve your chances of fighting it, dramatically.

The way he got infected was by carrying a lady to the hospital and then carrying her home when she got turned away from the hospital cuz they were full.

If he was seeking treatment, he made a poor choice to tell the ER he was not exposed to Ebola. Cause that was all he needed to do. Instead of ibuprofen, he would have had a whole ICU to himself.

It's not unusual for a patient to come into an ER with a 10" something stuck up their butt and tell the ER staff they don't have any idea why they are constipated.

It's like watching footage of the Hindenburg. You know what's going to happen and how it's going to end, yet all you can do is watch. The only difference being the airship burned first and then crashed...

Sounds like you're describing the Obama presidency.

Only if they want to go home with a 10" something stuck up their butt.

Most people who walk into ER because of something that would cause embarrassment have moved beyond the embarrassment factor.

The hospital has said the doctor was unable to see the information the nurse entered into the medical record. That guarantee's a lawsuit right there, Unless they settle, there's a chance we will eventually find out exactly what he said and who he said it to.

As if it matters now... The lawyers can work it out. I read that the cost so far is a cool 1 million for the hospital.

If there's a flaw in the way their EMR is set up, the vultures are likely circling already. This is America. There will surely be others who want in on the action.

Did you see the second nurse to test positive boarded a domestic flight with a temp of 99.5 the day before she was diagnosed?

xrays and CT's are great at detecting 10" somethings stuck up butts.

So are you saying the patient is going to claim they didn't know it was there and escape the embarrassment? I'm no longer sure what your point is. You can connect the difference between Ebola and Rabies but you see some similarity between Ebola and having an object lodged in your rectum?

Ebola is not something that is going to be diagnosed without symptoms and travel history. Are you suggesting he was hoping the ER staff would figure it out on their own?

You're inside the matrix. Everything is connected...

I'm not saying the patient is being logical, I'm saying they do it.

It would be embarrasing to admit how that something got in there

and it would be embarrasing to admit you lied to get out of Liberia and brought a disease with you

The average person walking around on the street doesn't know what is necessary to diagnose Ebola

According to his family in the States he denied carrying that pregnant women to the hospital.

His family in Liberia said he did.

The average person who thinks he has Ebola would probably pass this information on to the doctor. Especially if he came here for treatment as some have suggested.

The only alternative is that he just came from Liberia had the symptoms of Ebola but did not suspect that he had it.

Is that logical?

Wonder why there's not much in the news re: ebola the week before the election?

The Associated Press and other press outlets have agreed not to report on suspected cases of Ebola in the United States until a positive viral RNA test is completed.

I wonder how they decide what to let us know and what we "don't need to know about"?
