Hi Everyone,

I translated these documents for our K1 visa (Approved!) and had a friend of mine (who is bi-lingual and also translates) read them, agree that they are accurate and sign a certificate of translation as detailed in the VJ forum and USCIS website. The certification does not state that the person who signs it has translated the documents, rather that they agree that they are accurate translations.

I am not a legal translator, however I did have one look a few of them over, and she said they were translated accurately. I do encourage you to edit these as you see fit and to read them carefully (documents may vary between states and municipalities).

I wasn't sure how to upload them to a post, so I uploaded them to SCRIBD. If you have trouble with the links below, please feel free to contact me for copies.

What are those translations for? From my understanding translated documents are not needed for the K1 Visa when processed in Ciudad Juarez.

K1 Visa Event Date Service Center : Texas Service Center Transferred? No Consulate : Juarez, Mexico

I-129F: Sent 9/5/2014

I-129F: Arrived at Lewisville 9/8/2014

I-129F: NOA1 Text message/mail 9/11/2014

I-129F: Alien Registration Number Changed 9/16/2014

I-129F: Request to correct on document or notice assigned to an officer for response 10/25/2014

I-129F: Name Change request made 10/31/2014

I-129F: Crickets as of today

Actually, the certification text provided comes directly from the USCIS website and does not say that the person who certified it translated it.

I uploaded these because, as a professional translator (my expertise is not in legal documents), the nuances of legal terminology are difficult and can feel daunting, I imagine more so if you are not used to translating. While anyone can translate for free, not everyone has the time or disposition, hence the free uploaded documents for those who prefer not to begin from scratch.

Thanks! The formatting is mostly just playing with margins and using the "insert text box" option in word. I just googled my questions and found videos online. If you have a specific question, I'd be happy to try to answer it.

You do not need to translate anything unless it is in a different language other than English or Spanish for the K-1 visa process

Once you move to the US, for the AOS process, any documents that are in Spanish will need tro be translated to English, i.e Birth Certificate.

You do not need to translate anything unless it is in a different language other than English or Spanish for the K-1 visa process

Once you move to the US, for the AOS process, any documents that are in Spanish will need tro be translated to English, i.e Birth Certificate.

Oct 2007 - Met online via OkCupid and then at coffee house in Austin

Dec 2010 - He moved back to Mexico

July 2011 - I moved to Mexico

June 2013 - Moved back home to prepare for birth of our child

Sept 2013 - Our baby arrived!

16 Oct 2014 - Mailed I-129F

17 Oct 2014 - I-129F Delivered to USCIS
22 Oct 2014 - Check cleared

22 Oct 2014 - NOA1 Received via Email

25 Oct 2014 - NOA1 Received Hard Copy

13 May 2015 - NOA2 Received Hard Copy (200 days after NOA1)

29 May 2015 - Sent to NVC

It's been almost 3 years since you posted this thread and the links you provided have been deleted already. Not sure if you still an active member, but do you have by any chance the Mexican Police Certificate from Baja California example floating around somewhere? Thanks a lot
