we

're going in reverse then, the first time it took them a day and the second was 2 weeks, I'd be glad if they would send an e-mail back today, That would give me some piece of mind :)

I'm crossing my fingers and toes for you to hear something :)

Thank you! I can see my postman outside. He's a portly old chap who finds it difficult to climb all these stairs, so I go meet him downstairs to save him the trouble. But he insists on doing all the houses across from me first before he gets to my side of the street. He has no idea how cruel that is!!

Oh my god, that makes me feel even worse!! Maybe they don't like my name/face. Or maybe it's because I'm gay. Why me god, why me!! LOL

Just kidding.

I just hope they haven't lost my forms is all. I want to be there before Thanksgiving. Surely, that's not too much to ask!

PS: I just noticed you're flying to Boston tomorrow. Yay!! Must be SUCH a relief to be finally done with this shite. Gives me hope -- that there will such a day when I can be on a plane to Boston, too. We live in hope!

Never knew you were a gay couple? Yaaay! for another one, Could they be discriminating us both? (Jookkee) The mail guy just came to our house and nope, Nothing :/ Oh well life goes on :')

Oh no! Well, if they asked you to submit the forms again, you at least know they're working on your case, so they have no excuse not to send you a letter soon. Of course, they can always invent a new excuse. The bureaucratic ingenuity knows no bounds. But let's hope they get on with it this time!

So, what state are you guys getting married in? Not TX, obviously! :)

We'll be doing it in MA. The official marriage the week I land -- so we can send the AoS forms ASAP. And then a do for friends and family later. Not planned on the do yet. Didn't want to invite fate, seeing as there are so many hoops to go through before the visa is actually in our hands.

Still no packet 4, I got an email like you Hiroshi! An email I sent a week ago, maybe they only respond to their emails one day of the month. It basically said we have received your medical results and necessary paperwork, and an interview will be assigned within 6 weeks.

I guess they don't have any up to date information? Doesn't make sense

Took them 3 working days to reply to my 'contact us' submission / query.

And then once an email dialogue was established, they were replying within half a day everytime.

Why are they taking so long to reply back to you guys? Seems very odd, because London could not have been more helpful, or indeed efficient, with me.

I have to say that *touch wood* this has been my experience too. I had a reply to my 'contact us' query and they confirmed that they had received my ds160 (despite me sending it before I had heard from the embassy) and were extremely accommodating, promising to fit an interview date round a business trip.

I haven't yet received an interview date though so may be speaking too soon!

I did, my packet 3 didn't arrive until 3 days later, but I did wait until it was listed as ready on the system first.

Who knows what's up with them! I'm hopeful we should all receive something soon, it will never be as bad as TSC! 220 days of waiting

I'm pretty confident your interview date has been assigned, our letters are probably going through some sort of system of being printed, sent to a mail room, transferred etc etc.

When you filled in the DS-160 online, you know where they asked for the USCIS case number...did you put the TSC number of LND number? I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it......

When you try to retrieve your "lost"DS-160 application using the application number you have for it, does it say submitted and show the confirmation? Or does it not show any records? If it does say completed, surely, the embassy must be able to download it at their end? I'm thinking maybe we messed up on the case number? I remember you said you gave them the USCIS number -- i.e., the SRC.... - I did the same. I wonder if we had to give the LND number? Just a guess. It's so bloody confusing!

I used the SRC number. I know Hiroshi did, too. Could that be the mess up from our side? :(

But it says clearly in the instructions on the DS-160 that it's the number given by USCIS:

"If you are applying for a petition-based visa, your application receipt/petition number was given to you by the Department of Homeland Security’s U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) after you filed your petition application at a USCIS Service Center. The application receipt/petition number is 13 characters long and the first three characters are letters.

Lately, there has been some reported issues at London in regards to documents "missing".

This is due to people submitting their DS160 and readiness form BEFORE London receives the information.

Submitting these documents prior to London having an knowledge of you will delay the process.

Regarding the case number to be listed on the DS160 - I personally didn't fill it out as I am the petitioner. However I advised my fiance to use the LND number.

When the embassy was contact it only took them 1-2 days to respond. (2 days the first time and 1 day the second.) They responded in an automated way... told us the same thing they tell everyone else.

I highly doubt anyone has had their paperwork lost, it's just a matter of London having to sort out paperwork. If your paperwork doesn't match a file, it goes to another box to be sorted later, could be days. Who knows?
