Hey all, I was wondering if I have to wait for a hard copy of my NOA1 in order to set up an account to check my status or to get emails on its status? I sent in a money order and not a check so I can not find out my case number.

So do I have to wait for the NOA1 hard copy to arrive?

01/17/2007 I-129 received in Nebraska

01/22/2007 NOA1

01/24/2007 Touched

05/08/2007 NVC receives case

05/10/2007 NVC sends case to Bangkok embassy

05/17/2007 Sent packet 3 checklist with additional documents to Bangkok embassy

unfortunately you do. it really shouldn't take too long before you get the NOA, maybe a couple weeks at the most, but even when you get the NOA with your receipt number, sometime it takes them few days to enter your receipt number in the online system. that's what happened to me. it really does not make any difference tho, this really nothing compared to other waits we have to go through.

You don't have to wait for a hard copy to set up account...I set up my account a month before I applied/sent off our K1 -application...All you have to do once you get the receipt number is go back and enter it in the system...It's easy...

AUG- 2006 Went to the UK to visit for 4 days, ENDED UP STAYING FOR 8 DAYS!!!

**TALK ON THE PHONE EVERYDAY...FEELINGS ARE STRONG

OCT- 2006 Went to UK for visit/4 days

**PROPOSED

11-27-06 I-129F mailed to Vermont

11-29-06 Receipt of NOA1 (received in mail on Dec 4)

12-08-06 Touched

MID-JAN-2007 Will be going soon to UK for visit/1 week

JAN-10-2007 EMAIL OF APPROVAL FOR NOA2 (Received email 8 times in a row!!!!!)

01-11-07 "TOUCHED"

JAN-23-07 BACK FROM UK-- ENJOYED THE 6 DAYS THERE...

JAN-18-07 RECEIVED LETTER FROM NVC (National Visa Center)

1 WEEK PETITION WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE APPROPRIATE VISA ISSUING POST (LONDON) WHERE INTERVIEW WILL TAKE PLACE....

JAN 24-07 JUST FOUND OUT OVER THE PHONE THAT NVC SENT PETITION TO LONDON ON 1/12/07 & US EMBASSY IN LONDON HAS HAD THE FILE SINCE JAN 17TH 2007

JAN-26-07 HONEY JUST CALLED ME...GOT PACKET 3.... WOW!!!!!!!

they will stamp the receipt number at the back of your check when they cash it, so you can grab it and register.

I just set my account up yesterday! hehe Better to be ready and plug that number in whenever I get it!
