Hey guys

I'm going to see my fiancé next weekend, for two weeks. I have been 4 times since March this year, but my longest trip was for one week and the others were 5 days each. I haven't needed to supply proof of my ties to the UK before but I feel I'll need to, now the petition has been filed. I have put together a file with the following:

A letter from my employer, stating when I am expected back to work

A copy of my work schedule, showing when I am due back to work

My return ticket for my flight to England, along with my train tickets for when I get back to England

My fiance's plane ticket to England, for when he visits in November (to show I'll need to be back there by November)

A copy of my NOA1/I-797C, which my fiancé received last week

Wage slips to show my salary

A bank statement

Another letter from my employer to show how long I have worked for them, including my salary and how much vacation time I'm allowed (25 days per year).

I live at home, so I don't have lease. The only contract I have is my car insurance.

Should I take anything else with me?

Any help would be amazing ! Thanks

That looks like a great list to me. All they want to see is that you do plan to go back and are expected back. Showing your car insurance would not hurt.

And also I just want to say it's really cool and sweet of you to visit so often. I have to keep flying to India to visit my man, he has only visited me once in NYC since we got engaged in March

I agree with above. It sounds like you should be fine. Also you have taken very short trips, which helps. I would see where you would face issues if you took 4 trips and spent the entire 90 days each for example. The final say is up to the CBPO at POE, but you are doing everything right by having proof of your ties. Good luck.

This does not constitute legal advice.

I visited the US on ESTA three times after filing I-130. Never any problems. One CBP officer wanted to see a return ticket after I told them I had an immigrant visa interview coming up.

Your evidence sounds good as a 'just in case.'

Hey everyone!

Just to let you all know, I am sitting in Starbucks in Omaha, NE right now! I went through U.S. Preclearance in Dublin. The CBP Officer asked me a couple of questions (including when I was last in the USA), but I breezed right through and on to the plane!

I mentioned I was visiting my 'partner' and he didn't even ask me whether we were engaged - or anythjng about a visa. He asked me what my other half did for work (presumably to check for consistency on his screen or rule out an overstay if he were an oil tycoon!) but he didn't even seem concerned.

From what I've learned, I would suggest passing through an airport with preclearance facilities because it minimises the chance of an entry refusal at the WRONG end of your journey.

As a precaution, I still took:

Two bank statements

Two letter from my employers

My employment contract

My car insurance documents

My title to my car

Appointment letters

Work schedule

Fiance's plane tickets for his trip to see ME in November

A copy of the NOA1 and a printout of the email we received with it

N.B: I didn't take a copy of the K-1 application.

I hope this was some help to all those wondering whether to visit.
