Soccer or Football? Question to the UK Guys

it is slow - and I hate how football players try to act like they are such amazing atheltes - i'm like yeah you play one play, then stop....3 plays later you are off the field...

Not like PROPER football where you run your @ss off for 90 minutes. I do love american football but "soccer" comes first.

If you have regular cable and get fox world sports you get lots of good games :)

I must admit that I thought American football didn't look that tough......then I saw what Roshon has to go through everyday!! I have lots of friends who play soccer (semi-pro etc) and they have such an easy life compared to how American footballers have to train!! Plus many of my friends play in Sunday soccer leagues and they manage to run around for 90 mins....and they seriously aren't athletes!! Not saying its not tough but i'd know I'd much rather be thrown on a soccer field and told to battle it out than on a football field!!!

Saying that.....Soccer is definately no.1 - the beautiful game  but don't tell Roshon i said that

Oh yeah Man Utd fan...... *runs away*

Yeah camogie's the women's version of hurling...but just as brutal!!

hurling-thank you I could not for the life of me remember what that sport was called. When gav was here last year-he got into a heated debate in a pub about american football vs. hurling..............Once the american guys realized what hurling was-the debate ended real quick ;)

No disrespect meant to any american football players or fans out there... but.... they play only once a week for about 16-20 games. Hockey players play 3-4 times a week for 82 games, wear half as much equipment and move twice as fast.

So excuse me if I think hockey players are twice the athletes that football players are. Surely agility counts for something? other than squirmy QB's and receivers, I don't see agility in football.

Oh dear...here come the Canadians to weigh in on who is more of an athlete...

:lol::lol: And it's not even worth debating since it's like comparing apples to oranges.

All a bunch of posturing ALL the way around as I see it...LOL Of course every sport will think theirs is the toughest...even the curlers. :hehe:

Frances is feeling cheeky today........

ooohhh I like it when hockey players get mean and violent......thats the best!! I bet they loose 20lbs sweating to in all those layers!! Respect to the hockey players...........

All sports require different skills and different abilities don't they, everybody likes their own sports and will argue that its tougher, requires more agility etc

I think if football players played more than once a week they'd seriously have no brain cells left.....its not like they have them in the first place *runs away*

I love American Football. It's so much better than soccer with all the fake dives and people pretending to be hurt, I love the tactics and game planning.

I like soccer too - my US husband was a national league player and has played against UK premiership squads - but we love watching American Football (especially college football) much much more.

Some of the offensive and defensive linemen are incredible...they play with broken arms, ribs, faces, heck, one of our quarterbacks even played with a partially fixed broken leg, you wouldn't see soccer players doing that, and the game is very physically draining (unless you are a punter of course :)

Rugby is even better of course in terms of brute strength and endurance.

I prefere watching live soccer in the USA aswell - far fewer hooligans and idiots ruining the game for everyone.

 couldn't resist.........(he actually has a 3.0 gpa  )

Yeah, they have to play through all sorts - he had to play a game with a concussion  and he played pretty much the whole season with a torn knee muscle thingy  .....my hero

College football is way more fun!!! Roshons team plays LA Tech and there stadium holds like 90,000 people (or around that) - can't wait to go to that!!!

dang he has really converted me......soccer? whats that?
