Got a potential interview waiver letter today. Not what we were hoping, but what we were expecting. Our delay is 6 months.

Oh dear! Have you read the NPIW thread? It can go a lot longer than 6 months :( here's hoping it's less! I expect I'll get one of these letters shortly...

Thanks! Just reading some entries brings up concerns that I didn't even think about. Risk of the overseas medical expiring and having to fork out for another medical seems really unfair. Oh jeez fingers crossed that it doesn't take THAT long.

I got the same letter today and yes you're right i'm concerned about another medical too - another expense which is not our fault in the firstplace. Sigh!

Thanks!

In terms of the medical issue, we're going to call tomorrow to speak to a tier 2 officer and find out what happens and what we need to do. I know our medical definitely expires before the 6 months are up so as soon as we have an answer we will let everyone know.

Uscis changed the medical rule in June 2014. So if you had a medical prior to June 2014 then you should not get an RFE for a new medical however if you got a medical after June then you will most definitely need a new medical completed once your original medical exam that is valid for 1 year expires. If you read the NPIW thread here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/452854-notice-of-potential-interview-waiver-case/page-133AOS applicants have received an RFE for a new medical due to expiry. It sucks but there's not much else we can do. FYI my medical expires end of June 2015 :(

What if your medical was from June?(( June 16th specifically((

Ok so i did some digging, this is what i found you guys))

"The medical exam on Form I-693 will now be valid only for one year from the time of submission to USCIS. This new policy is effective June 1, 2014 and applies to any Form I-693 submitted with an application that is adjudicated after that date."

Looks like we will have a year from when we filed for adjustment, that gives me until October the 23rd. So hopefully I can have this approval before then))

Technically our medicals were sent earlier than our aos date due to being k1.thry were in that yellow envelope we handed over. Unless I'm wrong. I didn't submit an I-693 with my AOS application because my vaccines were completed and I sent the letter explaining that my medical was already sent and included the photocopy of my vaccine worksheet. From what I've read in the NPIW thread they've all received RFE for a new medical. My medical was done in June like you so I'm unsure what will happen.

Maybe we should ask this question on that NPIW thread and include your quote you found?
