I went to have my Social Security card changed to my married name back on January 6th. They said they could not see my EAD card in the system even though I had the physical copy. I got my updated Social Security card earlier this week. If anyone else was wondering or in the same boat)))

I am! I had a SSN in my madian name because they wouldn't issue it in my married name first time round. Yesterday I went to change it the woman said I wasn't in the system same as you and when I asked questions about how long/can I still apply for new jobs etc she told me that she couldn't tell me anything since I am not a citizen and just to wait.

Every time I get somewhere another annoying barrier arrives

I had the same issue, you can still apply for a job or work while your ss card is being processed.

Did she send a copy of your card to the SS center? The girl that helped me said I was not in the system but that she would send a copy to the SS headquarters in Austin, Texas and granted they could pull up my info they would send me a new card about 4 weeks later. Seems like the EAD card takes a little bit before it shows up registered in their system.

I would go back and tell her them to send your copy off if they have not already))

Hi everybody so me and my husband went to out interview this morning and got approved on the spot :)

It was a wondeful experience, as I already knew it would be because we super are a legit marriage. The lady was super friendly and it took only 5 minutes it was on the LA building, even security guards were nice with us there, now is just wait and remove conditions

Best of luck for all of you

So are our I-485s transferred automatically to our relative city offices or do they stay at MSC unless you are notified of it being transfered? Just wondering because I was looking at Dallas processing times and it looks like March 19, 2014 is where they are at(((

7 more months of waiting for me I guess((

Hi.... Congrats on your approval!!! We are also from Los Angeles...

My husband and I are currently under the "Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview" since Dec. 19 but I saw on the USCIS website that they are still working on JUNE 26th.

Can you let me know how long you waited for you interview?? We filed the i-131, i-765, i-485 on Oct. 16th

Thanks, and Congrats again!!

We feel your pain. The processing timeframe for San Bernardino, CA is at April 28, 2014. Looks like 6-7 months for us also. Hang in there!

Hello there, thank you very much, and here is what I can say to help you

Don't be in a rush or don't worry, my husband is a US citizen that's why it was so fast for us, and also cause we were never married before so it was an easy case, for permanent residents, I believe it normally does takes a while so i believe you are in the normal time frame still, but I am not sure so be sure to check in forums and with other people because I dont know how it goes for people filling with permanent residents....

Just be sure you don't lose the mail notice and keep an eye in your mail always, they should let you know there tho when they do schedule you for the interview and tell you they sent the notice in what day.

I waited fo the interview since middle of october , october 22, same forms as you plus the I-130.

My advice is gather as much bonafide proof as you can, joint leases, bank accounts, joint everything, pictures with family, and if you are a true marriage you should be just fine :)

While I waited for the interview I was keeping myself busy and enjoying time with my husband/looking for work/waiting for the authorization to work

I've filed for AOS on October, 31st and now waiting to have my interview scheduled since December, 23. It looks like I'll have to wait for a long long time as the Portland (OR) office seems really slow...

USCIS also managed to send my EAD to my old address in Las Vegas and now I'm kind of stuck

Still waiting on updates for my i485 since October 27, still says fingerprint fee recieved. Anyone else with no updates?? Chicago location.

You should call USCIS, i had the same problem, cant guarantee it is the same for you, but i was actually sent the biometrics appointment letter and never received it.

They got me a new appointment, and i now have my EAD :)

They are not very good with updating the status sometimes.

Phone number is +1 800-375-5283 , if you wait too long, it can look like you have abandoned your application, good luck!!
