If your k1 , then 99% of the time the interview is waived. From what I have seen the 6 months time usually starts after you get ur ead card. You can call uscis and ask, they might tell you . And yes you can submit I-131 with your I-485. Reciept and then you don't have to pay the fee

Thanks. Looks like we're in for a bit of a wait.

hello

so i got rfe which said my wife didnt meet the required amount she needed to be earning even though she did. her parents are in the process of getting their tax papers sent to me so we could use them as support for affidavit to get it moving.

now i have another question, we are planning to do a church wedding on july 18 and we would love to invite my folks to come for the wedding even though my siblings may find it hard. but i am skeptical about the whole bit cause it would mean i would have to send an invitation to them and i am still an immigrant. what would be the best option to navigate this?

also my wife is pregnant and she wants my mum to come when she gives birth.

i am from nigeria. so my folks are coming from nigeria

Hello all,

Just a quick update on my case, we received my green card in the mail last week but there was an error on it, the date it was approved said it was from 2014-2016 rather than 2015-2017. :( So we filled out an i-90 and I went in for an infopass appointment to get a temporary 1-551 stamp in my passport. We mailed off the form and are waiting for the green card now.

Also I have a job interview tomorrow!

It take longer for people adjusting from K1 to get an interview scheduled? I wasn't aware of this. Your EAD definitely went pretty fast though :)

Yes but I will most likely wait longer for my green card than you will((

Called USCIS today to ask about an update on our I-485 since it said online that we should receive an update by January 16th, and unfortunately he said that the local office here is backed up as of November 30th. He suggested we wait another month then call back if we haven't heard anything :clock:

Diversity visa doesn't open till oct 1st every where , so I don't know how you submitted in september, also you have to look at your department of state visa availability date to figure out when your eligible to file I-485. If your date is not current, you will have to wait till it's current.
