Just updating for those of you that are waiting for your 75 day mark, ours passed last Friday and I called the USCIS to get an update on the EAD/AP and the officer was unable to give us any real information the only thing she said was that it was still in "normal processing time" and that it wouldn't be until the 90 day mark that we would be able to file an update electronically. Bummer still crossing my fingers that we won't have to file an update electronically and that it will just come before the 90 day mark.

update update: just checked our case status on the USCIS website, not sure why we didn't get an update via text message or e-mail but our EAD/AP was approved!! Yay!! Now we wait for the combo card to come! :)

Wooooooooo! Congrats! Seems like more people get approved around the 75th day since filing!

05-18-2022: Filed N-400 online. Received online NOA and Biometrics re-use.

06-03-2022: Interview scheduled (online notice).

06-10-2022: Interview letter received via USPS.

Congratulations on getting your EAD/AP so quickly TheFoxxy. Now start praying that you don't receive the Notice of Potential Interview Waiver letter. The wait times for those cases are very reminiscent of the long wait for a K1 visa approval at TSC. There are some very frustrated people that have nearly been waiting since February this year!

Good luck!

Hi sweetswinks:

May I kindly confirm what you mean by "certified copy" of the marriage certificate.

Our marriage certificate indeed states at the top that it is a "Certified Marriage License." But the copy itself is certified by no one

May I confirm that this is the meaning that you intend, or have I missed something and should have had the copy of the Certified License itself certified?

If so, I cant find that in the instructions.

I want to be very sure because time is of the essence for us, and despite an NOA dated 10/29 and biometrics taken 11/18 we have heard nada.

She means a certified copy of your marriage license. When you go to the county clerk you have to ask for a certified copy, they usually charge you $10 or so for it, and they will copy it and stamp it making it an official copy. They do not require this but there have been people that received RFEs for it. I just took every precaution possible to avoid delays. You may be able to go get a certified copy and then mail it into USCIS with your case # and a note saying that you want it attached to your file just in-case they need it? Never hurts to be too careful!))))

Hello all,

I have been following this post since we filed in October. Yesterday and then again today I got an email for my EAD!
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On December 23, 2014, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number XXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by January 22, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

My question is of course, about how long is it until I get my EAD in the mail?

Thanks

A marriage license is what you applied for and is signed by the person who performed your marriage ceremony. The marriage licence is filed at the court house. What you receive after being married is a certified copy of your marriage certificate which has a stamp/foil and the names printed of those who were married as well as the date. Your original marriage certificate is the one you submitted to the court house.

Thanks everyone!))) Hang in there, I am sure we will all be approved here real soon))

TheFoxxy and Sweetsinks,

Thank you very much for your interesting responses.

In our case, the Certified Marriage License seems to be more than just a document allowing us to get married, as it contains information about the marriage itself including the name of the Officiant who performed the ceremony, which was concurrent with applying for the license. In other words, the marriage was solemnized right then and there at the court house. And it is this license that has the official seal on it to which I believe The Foxxy refers.

Maybe that explains why what we have is titled as a License and not a Certificate. Or maybe I am missing something?

As for having gotten the copy itself certified, that was no doubt a good idea which unfortunately didn't occur to us. Still, the instructions don't require it so at this point, two months since our packet was received in Chicago, we will just wait and see what they say, fingers doubly crossed.

Thanks again to both of you!

"Sweetswinks", not "Sweetsinks", so sorry! (Much more romantic your way....)
