DV Sponsor Enquiry

Hello All,

Kindly help clarify this doubt. For the 2015 DV lottery winners, do sponsors have to show any documentary proof of ability to support the winner?

If yes, (1)what document would be appropriate?

(2) Would Tax returns for year 2013 be OK?

In my case, I had paystub of 3 months, photocopy of the ID of the sponsor, document from the Work stating that the person is a permanent employee and has an annual salary of X and Bank account details. It might have been an overkill but I wanted to ensure that I had every document they could ask.

But then they asked me if I had Tax returns - I didn't have that but they said it was fine.

The instructions for the form lists the proofs, most people use copies of tax returns or tax transcripts.

Thanks for the reply. I have done my online application and waiting for the invitation letter. Unfortunately i have not set sight on any other instruction specifically on the sponsors. Couls you please help with the link.
