hello we were approved today for our k-1 visa, my fiancé is from Philippines. I received the notice via mail I-797 notice of action letter, it stats in the letter that "we have been approved and this notice will be forwarded to the listed consulate" So my question is, there is no consulate listed on the notice? Where do I find this information for the consulate? Also does anyone know what the next step is?

The listed consulate is on your I-129F form that you have filled out. Which consulate did you put on your I-129F application?

Ok would the consulate be the California service center?

I was expecting from the info I found here on this site that I would be needing to fill out some more forms like the affidavit of support ect. Will the next set of forms be filled out and given to the embassy in manila? How soon can I set the appointment for the interview in manila? And thank you so much for the reply!

You will send your original affidavit of support to your fiancee in the philippines. She needs to submit it on her interview. Along with the affidavit of support that you need to send are photocopies of your recent ITR and W2.

Once you get your MNL case number, your fiancee can already set an appointment for interview online.

Please update your timeline on VJ.

Your paperwork is being sent to the US Embassy in Manila, which also has the Consular Section in the Embassy. There are no Consulates in the Philippines, except for Manila.

The Consular Section of the United States Embassy in Manila processes applications for both nonimmigrant and immigrant visas to the U.S.

I am a former US Embassy (Foreign Service) employee.

The consulate is located in the embassy. Most citizens of the Philippines go to Manila.

In about 4 weeks you will get a letter from the NVC (National VIsa Center) that they will be sending your file to the consulate in Manila. There is an important number in that letter called the MNL number. This will be the reference number the whole time your file is in Manila.

Once you get this letter, you take it and the sum of $340 to any Philippines located branch of the Bank of Philippine Islands together with a BPI deposit slip that you download from the internet. I don't remember exactly where you download it from; I hope someone else can help with that. If you google K-1 visa USEM deposit at BPI that should be enough to find it. This is how you pay your interview fee.

Once that is paid, you can go on the USEM web site and sign up for a visa interview. There was quite a long backlog because of large numbers of Yolanda victims wanting visas, but that crunch has eased up a bit. Now you should be able to get an appointment in about 2 months. Note the requirement for all the documents you need, including that affidavit of support from your US fiance. Make sure you can get this stuff together on time, otherwise grabbing the first possible appointment date may not be a good idea. You should have this stuff to hand in when you interview. You can have it late, but that will delay your visa by several weeks, again not a good idea. Better to set your appointment a little later to give yourself enough time to gather your documents so you do this right the first time.

Next thing is to get ready for your medical exam at St. Luke's Extension Center. You should plan on doing that at least one week before your interview so they have time to get the results filed with USEM. It actually only takes them about 1/2 week to get it filed, but give them the whole week so you don't overshoot it. You want a safety margin there to make sure the medical stuff gets to the embassy on time. Don't go there during your period, as that will interfere with the exam, but otherwise you should be fine. And don't worry about minor things like coughs and colds. They only care about serious transmittable diseases and won't fail you for a cough or cold.

If your fiance is there in Manila with you, he will be permitted to participate in the interview, but you are on your own for the med. He won't even be allowed in the St. Luke's building.

Your case file will be sent to NVC from USCIS, once a MNL # has been assigned the case file will then be forwarded to USEM in Manila.

does my fiancée need her cenomar to give at the point of entry in the USA? They took her copy at a class she just attended? And we don't have time to get another one?

Nope. For POE the passport with visa and the DO NOT OPEN envelope are all that is required.

Please recheck your facts. a lot of your information is either old or incorrect. Wrong information can mess things up for others.
