I thought the US government didn't believe in torture :(

Ok, I know I know, its not at all unreasonable to wait a week for NOA1, just feeling a bit down and worried (I realize it will get worse). This whole sending to Nebraska just to have them foward it to California thing is so stupid. I will feel so much better when they at least cash my check... come on, CSC, you know you want to. :crying:

If you look at other peoples time lines you will see that it can be 10-14 days from mailing

Stop counting days?!?!?!?! What kind of VJ sacrilege is this?!

As for your NOA1, Ladykelia... it's probably already 'in the mail' (ie in the mailroom at CSC waiting for them to get round to sending it out) - ours was dated 8 days after we mailed the I-129F to Nebraska, but we didn't get it until 5 days after that (day 13 since we mailed the petition). And the check cleared on day 14 or 15, I think.

I know it's a horrible feeling thinking 'I just want to know they've received it safe and sound, what is taking them so long?!?!' but.... give it a couple of days, you will have the NOA1 and can then start obsessively tracking your never-changing case status online! :)

Hang in there! And try to stop counting days......hehe...keep the calendars away from you!! I know it's easy to say but... try to keep yourselves busy with a hobby or something.

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

I was in the same situation. I sent my petition UPS next day to Nebraska 1-11, it was was signed for on 1-12, and then immediatley sent to CSS arrived on 1-16, check cashed on the 1-17, received NOA! hardcopy.

Part of my being impatient was I had already established an account on USCIS, and I included my email on the petition. I have yet to receive an e-mail regarding anything with my petition.

I'm trying to say, that they will send your NOA1 soon.

I know, I know, you want it now. I have come to accept the wait it is part of the process

Just be patient it will happen.

They do ask for it on the petition but if you do not set up an account with the USCIS and register your case file, you will never receive an e-mail from them.

Your case number should be in their endorsement on your check. Get that and you can look up your case status online to make sure it's in there! Sucks to wait so long for NOA1.

I have set up and registered an account with USCIS. I have received my NOA1 hadcopy  , my case is pending, and I know eventually they will update files and my e-mails will begin  . But at this point I'm not worried about that. It's not like I filed in Vermont and can be approved in 30 days  . Sorry to say I'm at CSC and probally have atleast 90 days :( , before my NOA2 they will have sorted out e-mail issues.

But thanks for the information.

Regarding emails - My petition was approved November 14th. That night we had our first touch (indicated by change in date on USCIS online case status), which was really exciting for me, and the next day we had another touch. No emails though and no change in status. After a few days I began to think it had just been some inexplicable internal processing thing and no real change for us. I got the hard copy NOA2 a few days later, and the notification email and online case status change didn't happen for another few weeks, by which time we were already through NVC iirc. So anyway, there may come a day when you realize the online update system is somewhat borked.
