I'm so glad VJ nipped these ####### in the bud after their first season. The production company was back sniffing around the forums for fresh meat immediately after season 1 aired and they greenlit season 2 but VJ politely asked them to leave (More politely than I would have). The show was deliberately misleading and did nothing but stigmatize an already misunderstood Visa. This show did nothing but make the K1 visa process look like a free ticket for scammers and misanthrope victims which couldn't be further from the truth.

As for the individual Kzeilu who is so thoroughly down on this process... well I can't speak to your life or the life of others, but I love my wife, she loves me and God willing that won't change. I'm sorry for your negativity.

What do yall think about the show? Also the 2nd seasons out on the 19th!

Would yall apply to go on it?

oh - i might - if [apologies in advance for the character assassination attempt]

we were 19 or 20 and

met through an online game 4 weeks ago and

jumped a plane to meet 3 weeks ago and

still lived at home with parents and

had not discernable means of support and

thought it ok to have cameras in our lives for a bit...

it's fun ! more fun than meeting your loved one, the first time, at an airport !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I just wish the show would not be so misleading to couples who may be considerkg the fiance visa. I've had several people ask me if that's "really what it's like" and clearly it is not at at all what its like. It makes it seem that the hardest part is trying to plan a wedding in 90 days (which is also misleading as you can have a civil ceremony and then larger wedding later on)- but it says nothing about the process and waiting that happens prior to the visa being issued. I'm thankful I'm more well informed because of this site- but I don't think its a fair representation of the reality of the fiance visa. On a side note- I also cried when they were reunited with their finances at the airports because I havent even allowed myself to get excited yet because I kinow of the wait. But it was good for me to see the light at the end of the tunnel & how worth it this will all be in the end.

Show looked scripted to me i wish they showed how the first couple were doing if they are still together.

I'd like to know if they're still together after the fiance gets the green card.

Getting the visa is the easy part of a K1. the AOS takes quite a bit of work and then there is the ROC in 2 years.

5. '90 day fiance' as a title is a misnomer, as the person was a fiance prior to filing the I-129F, ages past. sure, the couple has 90 days in which to get married, but the allusion here (illusion?) is that one has 90 days to decide about actually saying yes to be married. bollocks.

This is the bit that bugged me. You've already said yes to the marriage. You don't come over to the US on an "easy" visa to see if you can get on with each other in the 90 days and then say yes to the marriage. Very misleading.

Admittedly, I've not watched the show. I've read the intro to Season 2 on the Daily Mail...

As to reality shows in general, I dislike most of them. Though there are occasional gems that seem less focused on "car crash" sensationalism with a heavy dollop of conflict and drama.

And Kung Fu Hustle FTW! ;)

I've watched the first season and will watch the second season. I agree with others that there is a definite deception factor because the show doesn't discuss the process at all. However, the fact is... The show doesn't discuss the process at all.

I think it's focus is following the lives of couples that have decided to take this journey and now are at the point of living together in that 90 day crunch. Anyone who has gone through this process knows some if not all of the specific experience they are describing- arrival in the US, finally being a step closer to actually building your life together, adjusting to living together, and for some planning a wedding.

I do think the couple backgrounds would help make the show more realistic and less scripted. I mean one guy actually lived and worked in his spouses country so her moving to the US was their next step because his company brought him back. Those details make the stories more relatable, in my opinion. But then again, this is a reality tv show! Who are we to expect anything resembling real life?!?!

From the updates on the site, it seems all the couples are still together. They've all done one year follow up interviews, however, one couple has decided not to be shown in the follow up video airing.

Season 2 starts tonight and there are some new and different couples as someone mentioned earlier. I'll check back in for opinions from anyone that decides to watch. Lol

I will admit I am guilty :secret: I watched the first episode of the 2nd season of TLC's 90 day fiance.

I had watched a few episodes of the last season and thought it fulfilled whatever reality tv should fulfill... Entertainment! Just like a bad Britney Spears video, you know it's awful but you still watch it. ( I know for a fact most of you do it... don't lie lol)

However after watching this seasons premiere I am left with a sense of wonder. How do you decide to get engaged after so little time spent together? Not sure if it's a culture thing but I couldn't imagine promising to spend the rest of my life with my now fiance after knowing him for 10 days. Basically I'm wondering how many people actually make that decision in such a short time period?

This show is a complete waste of TV time and is totally ridiculous.

Do not take anything they say or do on this show as the truth or fact. It is at the end of the day reality TV and not a documentary.

They compress a lot of what happens in the process and only show what makes good TV. They are producing it for ratings and not as a guide so just laugh and change channels.

We watched the first season and the follow-up. We'll watch this season too, it's on the dvr schedule. I never thought it was meant to be a guide and obviously people are coached to say outrageous things e.g. "gold digger/green card hunter" . I have to admit though, I heard a few comments that were similar to those on the show from acquaintances before my fiancé/wife arrived. We're just taking the show for what it's worth, entertainment.
