Hi! All has been moving so quickly in our AOS case, but we have been waiting for interview scheduling for 5+ weeks (we received the case status update that we are in line to be scheduled for an interview in late August). Is this a fairly normal wait time for this step in the process or has something gone wrong?

Any help is appreciated.

Came to US on a TN "Visa" from Canada, fell in love, married USC, and now filing for AOS based on marriage to USC

TN Visa Approved at Border 3-1-2013 (Canadian Citizen)

May 2014 - Completed I-693 Medical Process with Civil Surgeon

6-7-2014 Married to USC

7-15-14 Sent AOS Package via USPS Priority Mail Day 1

7-17-14 NOA for all parts of AOS package, EAD, and AP Day 3

7-21-14 Checks cashed Day 6

8-13-14 Biometrics 8-13-14 Day 28 (Did not walk in early, went on scheduled day/time)

8-27-14 Online status showed case moved to Testing and interview Day 42

9-10-14 Status update - AP and EAD approved, card production ordered Day 55

9-17-14 AP and EAD Combo Card received Day 62

10-15-14 Online status change, assigning interview date DAY 90

11-1#-14 Interview, approved at end of interview, green card should arrive in 2-3 weeks per approval letter DAY 120

11-1#-14 Evening of interview - received "Card Production Ordered" email update DAY 120 (NO RFE throughout process)

Looking forward to:

Timeline

If you look at the dates in my signature, I waited for 3+ months in the waiting for my interview to be scheduled. It is normal.

If you go to the USCIS website there is a processing times link that can give you a ballpark of how quick or slow your local office is. Alternatively, you can go to the immigration timelines and look there to see when people at your local office are reporting receiving their interview dates. I found checking those areas reassuring.

I waited eight months.

So does that mean you finally got scheduled?! Congrats if you did! Our lawyer told us to expect our interview notice 4-6 weeks after receiving the EAD. 6 weeks was up on Friday and we are still waiting. It's been four months overall.

Wishing all of your luck on your immigration journeys.

Yes, and thank you! We filed for AoS in early January, entered Testing & Interview in February, my wife received her EAD in March, we updated our address on file in early August, and the notice is dated late September with the website updating and the letter being received in early October. The interview will be in early November. Edited by jxn

Woohoo! Congratulations! We have yet to even enter "Testing and Interview." We seemed to be ahead of schedule for everything up until the EAD (on August 22nd). That was where all progress stopped. We haven't had any case updates since then. Good luck with the interview! I'm sure you are beyond thrilled to have all of this over.

Wishing all of your luck on your immigration journeys.

Finally someone from OKC! We are few here on VJ. From the 2013 cases (unfortunately not very many either), it seems like a good 6 - 8 months waiting time from beginning to end.

Edit: Sorry to be off topic, I was just happy to see someone else here on VJ waiting at this slow office as well!

Is your AOS being handled by the Texas Service Center or another one? My local office is San Antonio, but our case is being processed at the Nebraska Service Center. We had been told 5-7 months by our lawyer, but when everything seemed to be moving ahead of schedule, we started to get high hopes. I've seen several immigration timelines through the SA office that already have their interviews scheduled. Bleck!

Wishing all of your luck on your immigration journeys.

All really depends on the office!! Mine is the Denver office...

I filed On Feb 12, 2014 and my case moved to Testing and Interview on March 19, 2014. I had to wait 6 and a half months to get my interview date. I finally have my interview on the 3rd Nov. Really looking forward to it and getting it done once and for all!! :)
