Very important question

I just recieved all my fiance's signed forms and letter of intent...he also sent copy of his birth certificate.

This is my issue:

The name on the birth certificate is spelled a bit different than the way he commonly spells his name. On the forms, I want to put the name as he spells it on the birth certificate, right? But his name on the letter of intent is spelled differently. Or can I put his commonly spelled name in the forms and put the full name in the other names used section?

Its as if someones name was Franklin Jones and they wrote Frank Jones at the bottom of the letter and signed it. Thats not a big deal right?

I would say that everything should be in his full legal name for immigration purposes. They ask on some forms if you go by any other names, you could put in the name he uses there, the one that isn't his actual legal name.

I agree. My fiance had sent his signed papers with a similiar discrepancy. I had him sign them again correctly and send me again. It wasted a couple of weeks time in filing the I129F, but gave us peace of mind.
