Form 325A answers for less developed countries

Hello everyone,

My fiancé lives in Cambodia and I'm in the process of starting a K1 Visa for her. I understand both she and I have to fill out 325A Biological Information forms and submit them along with our I-129F paperwork.

My question relates to the fact that this country does not have much in the way of modern infrastructure, particularly outside the capital city Phnom Penh. My fiancé lives and works in Siem Reap, a major tourist city in Cambodia, but still there does not appear to be any addresses / street names etc outside of the downtown area. They do have a post office downtown, but it appears to be only for tourist to mail postcards home. My fiancé tells me there is no mail delivery there, even to downtown addresses. I can verify that I did once mail a postcard to her downtown work address and it never got there.

My fiancé lives outside of town and can only tell people how to get to her house by describing the route using landmarks. She doesn't even know if the area (neighborhood) has a name.

So, my question is how to I answer the address questions on the 325a form? What have other people done in this type of situation and did it satisfy the USCIS and not cause an RFE?

Thanks for an responses in advance!

Kevin

perhaps your post can be moved to the East Asian subforum where you can hopefully receive answers from fellow Cambodian filers. I would believe you will have to have some form of an address as the packet3 and packet4 documents are sent to the beneficiary...best of luck...

Thanks for the reply. I was able to get that particular question answered at the Phnom Penh embassy via email even though they don't officially answer questions until later in the paperwork process.

Here is what I asked:

How does the Cambodian embassy send out the paperwork (for example, the Packet 3) to the VISA applicants residing in Cambodia? My fiance lives on the outskirts ofSiem Reap, but the Cambodia Post Office does not seem to deliver mail to individuals there. I can put her work address on the form instead, (a small shop in Siem Reap), but she says they don't receive mail there either. Therefore, I don't have any idea how to fill out the mailing address fields on the I-192 (petition) paperwork for my fiance. How does the Cambodian embassy handle this sort of situation?

Their response:

For K Fiancé visa whose’ s beneficiary address is not completed or outside the city, we will send the Packet 3 to the Petitioner or the legal representative for their information.

As a result, I'm not so worried about the lack of specific details once the paperwork gets to the embassy. I'm more worried that Homeland Security will RFE the package during the initial completeness checks early in the process.

I can't imagine this sort of situation being all that rare, that why I'm curious if any other filers from any country have had luck getting their 325A paperwork through the system with missing data.

My current plan is to include an explanation the forms stating why the specifics are missing. I'm hoping that will work if I can't locate some type of location identification.

Thanks for the suggestion of the sub-forum, I'll try that too.

Regards, Kevin

I would think/hope that an attachment letter explaining the U.S.embassy`s position on this along with the G-325A would be enough to get the I-129-f started while you sort thru solutions...good luck

This is why the embassy puts the packet 3 checklist on their website to download, they never mail "packet 3" to the applicant in Cambodia.

I think my wife did get some approval notice that stated the embassy had her application from the post office (they called her and met her somewhere to give it to her), but that was like a month after we had already scheduled the interview.

For K 1 applicants.

As far as the address for the 325a form, we just listed the nearest intersection of major roads/streets.

I wouldn't worry about what you write, just make sure it's consistent with all the forms you fill out.

Hi, I have also wanted to know how the PP embassy deals with the mail issue. Our file is probably still at the NVC and I do not have a case number to use. Thanks for the information
