K-1 - VSC

Aug 2005 -- 1st trip, We meet, become friends; Jan 2006 -- start dating

April 2006 -- 2nd trip, We get engaged; Sept-Nov 2006 -- 3rd trip, More time together

Feb 8, 2007 -- Mailed 129-F package to VSC

Feb 13 -- NOA1!

Feb 19 -- Touched

Feb 20 -- check cashed! NOA1 arrives snail mail!

Feb 22 -- Touched

Mar 8 -- NOA2 email!

Mar 12 -- NVC recieves

Mar 15 -- NVC sends out

Mar. 26 -- Packet 3!

Apr 17 -- Medical

Apr 24 -- Interview, Approved!

Apr 27 -- Picked up passport

May 4 -- POE JFK

May 19-- Apply for SS#

Jul 13 -- Married!

Jul 24 -- Sent out AOS/EAD paperwork

End of Aug -- NOA for EAD and AOS

Sept 6 -- Biometrics

Sep 21 -- Email that AOS app was transfered to CSC

Sept 24 -- Email that EAD is on its way

Oct 10 -- EAD card recvd

Nov 10 -- Email that AOS APPROVED!!!!! (no interview)

Nov 16 -- Green card arrives in mail

Our Timeline

08/03/06 -- Met online, have chatted almost every day since then

09/29/06 -- Met in person at the Lima Airport. 10 wonderful days together.

10/31/06 -- I-129F mailed to TSC

11/09/06 -- CSC cashes the check

11/14/06 -- NOA-1 Received

11/16/06 -- We get 11 days together in Arequipa (Betty's home town). I meet her family for the first time.

12/28/06 -- We get 19 days together in Arequipa. I'll be back in February.

01/18/07 -- Touched! First sign of life.

01/19/07 -- 12:10 AM, NOA-2! APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!! On to the next step.

01/19/07 -- Touched again, around 11 AM. I guess we're on the way to the NVC!!

I scribbled my signature and date on the top of basically every single piece of paper I sent them except for the actual government forms and the letters of intent from me and my fiance. I read on another site that someone did that and thought - what the hell. the instructions seem to only require it for extra pages created specifically for form items (like #18 - describe how you met), but it can't really hurt.

Actually, the website where I got the idea said she printed some sheets of mailing labels that said "I'129F Original Submission" and then signed and dated each by hand (or maybe the date was printed) and then stuck them on all papers. I don't think there's a clear cut method or even a requirement. EXCEPT for the continued form items (like #18, or if your employment or address lists go past the spaces on the G-325A) - then the instructions clearly say to sign and date and say what question you're continuing.

1-12-07 mailed to CSC

1-22-07 DHS cashes the I-129F check

1-23-07 NOA1 Notice Date

1-26-07 NOA1 arrives in the post

4-25-07 Touched!

4-26-07 Touched again!

5-3-07 NOA2!!! Two approval emails received at 11:36am

5-10-07 Arrived at NVC/5-14-07 Left NVC - London-bound!

5-17-07??? London receives?

5-20-07 Packet 3 mailed

5-26-07 Packet 3 received

5-29-07 Packet 3 returned, few days later than planned due to bank holiday weekend

6-06-07 Medical in London (called to schedule on May 29)

6-11-07 "Medical in file" at Embassy

6-14-07 Resent packet 3 to Embassy after hearing nothing about first try

6-22-07 DOS says "applicant now eligible for interview," ie: they enter p3 into their system

6-25-07 DOS says interview date is August 21

6-28-07 Help from our congressional representative gives us new interview date: July 6

7-06-07 Interview at 9:00 am at the London Embassy - Approved.

7-16-07 Visa delivered after 'security checks' completed

I-129F approved in 111 days; Interview 174 days from filing
