Hi September filers, I am already waiting for my case # and according to some blogs, i can proceed with setting up my interview date and medical even without receiving the letter from the US Embassy yet. Is this true? If so, which number should I call and should I call the NVC or Manila embassy?

Hi! Congratulations on your fast approval!

I think you should wait to get your MNL case # and pay the fee before you can set up an interview appointment. The medical can be done at least a week before your interview date. You should call the NVC to get your case number, once you got your case number you can now check your status online. They say that once your status says "In transit" , you can start the process and pay the fee and schedule an appointment online. Some say its better to wait until your status says "Ready", just to be sure that its already in Manila.

In our case, we didn't get a letter from the embassy. They say that the letter takes a long time to be delivered or some never really come. Once our status online says "Ready", we paid the visa fee and scheduled an appointment online. My interview is on December 1, and I had my medical last Thursday and Friday.

Waaahhh I'm dying with anticipation!! Well in any case, TSC is doing a LIIIITTTLEEE bit faster than it was doing before. Us September folks a bit luckier than the rest of TSC months ? just think of it this way, we're all mostly already 2 months in, stepping into our third month. As of right now with June filers, 4 months is a good waiting period ?

Received RFE in the mail on the 24th, mailing out today. Answers were missing for "Part 3", questions 2 and 3. I remember not filling this section out because I interpreted it as only pertaining to current military members. Not an issue of course as I have no arrests, courtmartials, or convictions for anything. Oops. Oh well, hope this is it. Fingers crossed.

It absolutely blows my mind that it's even legal for the wait times to be so much longer depending on what part of the country you are in. This process is unbelievably frustrating. As happy as I am for everyone who is getting their approvals so fast, I still can't help but to feel angry about the whole thing.

We filed on Sept 17th. Our petition was approved on November 3rd. I have not recieved the letter from the NVC yet, but I got impatient and called them yesterday. I now have our NVC case number. We have already completed the DS-160 and I am mailing the I-134 forms and supporting documents to her tomorrow. We are trying to get this done as quickly as possible. Crossing my fingers and hoping I can go bring her home in January......

Yeah, I still get one. I think the word is it will stay that way until there is an update.
