I seriously doubt that. They are government workers who just want to do their job and go home. There will be no emotional attachment to the process (and I actually think that's a good thing). There is no reason for them to care about people complaining. Doesn't affect them.

Yeah it was kind of a tongue-in-cheek statement.

Update:

Just got off the phone with the Tier 2 officer. I asked if my case was assigned to anyone and he told me that they do not release that information.

He told me that my NOA 1 date is September 2nd which is interesting because I thought it was the 5th. When I asked what he recommend I do, he said that I should wait until our application is outside of normal processing times AND wait an additional 30 days to give the office time to finish all the applications... as if we haven't waited long enough! He said I should call back in 1.5 months.

Obviously this is not what I wanted to hear. Hoping that I just get my approval before then!

William was told that our petition was with an adjudicator. He got that information from his congressman. It still took another month after they told us that for the approval to come in. I thought that a Tier 2 agent had also confirmed we were with an adjudicator, but that may have been because he asked for reassurance to pass onto me as I was convinced USCIS had lost it. Rooting for you guys. The waiting is absurd and so unnecessary, given that the imbalance of case load assignation between service centers is not helping matters and it took them all of 6 months of complaints to initiate another batch of transfers. Still hoping this is good news for those of you waiting, but TSC needs to pull finger now and start approving some petitions daily. How do they expect to catch up when they slow down to all but a grinding halt?

I am at the point where I am close to losing it. Every night faithfully I log into USCIS from about 8pm until 10pm checking for any update while at the same time refreshing Igor's list to see if anyone has gotten word. I hate that TSC has such power over me. Every night I go to bed heartbroken. This is just taking its toll on me. NOTHING can ever make up for this pain and anguish we are forced to go through. To see TSC get slower and slower just pisses me off. My worst fear is that seeing so many August filer and even July filers waiting I might be sitting here until May or June to even get an approval.

I'm so sorry you are still waiting. I'd love to tell you it gets easier, but that would be a lie. The funny thing is that once the approval comes in, it takes about a week for the news to register and then things start moving so quickly. We will keep watching for your name on that approvals list.

I'm not convinced it's complaints that triggered it. They do batches of transfers periodically.

If you are doing this with the Vietnam embassy scheduling your interview can be 3 months out at the earliest after you get approval to interview. I wish it got better, but it won't.

They are just all over the place. It was bad last month but now approvals are ranging from July to November. One here, one there ..... Somebody must have tipped over a cargo load of petition bins on the floor and scooped them up and jammed them in anywhere there was space

The problem is, is they will just backdate the actual date to something every month or 2 to a date that will always be within the "timeline". Meaning we can never make an actual inquiry. Even when they gave the last date, they were already processing applications significantly past that.

I'm so frustrated that I've completely moved to "I don't even care anymore".

Agreed. I actually tried to explain this to the phone muppet I talked to yesterday and got nowhere. There will never be a point in their minds when I have reached over six months, because they maliciously and intentionally keep you held hostage by fudging the numbers that way.

So the question becomes, when is the best time for me to pull the trigger and start firing off letters to representatives beyond general inquiries that I've made already. In my mind I'm at six months, at the USCIS mind I'm not (so I know what response they'll give them too). My guy thinks mathematically I should try it nine days from now. But I told him it would probably not even get me anywhere seeing as they keep hugging August.

One thing for sure is, I'm done talking with the USCIS. After yesterday's conversation, I would not be able to hold my temper. It's not their fault they are dumb as a box of rocks.

Have you already filled out a privacy agreement for your reps? If not, I'd contact them now to get the ball rolling on that so you are ready for them to contact USCIS for you when you decide to do that.

So, I filled out the privacy agreement and enquiry and sent it to both senators for my state.

The reply I got from one chick at the senator's office today basically told me that whenever in the vague unnamed future my application is past the "estimated date" from USCIS, then I can wait 30 days, and THEN they might think about putting in an enquiry for me. She then told me to plan for another 6 months of processing after the approval before we could actually be together.

I did all I could not to scream at her as she talked to me like I'm an idiot, and then I cried. At work. *sigh* It's getting to me.

The worst is that we planned for a wedding in August and everyone told us it was feasible.
Now this woman is telling me basically it could be a year from now before this all comes together.

Who else should I contact? The representative for our district recently died so there's no one in that position now.

What do you guys say when you talk to these folks?

:( . We had to move our wedding date because we thought we would be in the clear for processing times when we started. It sucks. I hope if you've booked anything the vendors are flexible, just in case. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that your date works out though.

I'd contact your deceased rep's office still, their caseworkers and staff still have to help constituents with issues regarding federal agencies. I bet their caseload has gone down a lot, so you may get more attention from them.

Another 6 months of processing AFTER the approval? Yeah, that person has absolutely no clue. I'm not going to gloss it over and say it won't probably be another couple of months after your approval before you've got visa in hand, but shouldn't be that long. Not unless there is something difficult with your case or your embassy handles cases at a snails pace.

I'm in limbo right now with the wedding date - luckily most of my vendors will be flexible if I can reschedule within a calendar year from my wedding date, and if they are available. Right now I'm still hoping for a miracle because if NOA2 comes soon, I might still be able to use my original date. Only benefit that I've seen is that London seems to be one of the embassys that processes quicker. If we can nail down an interview date, then that will give me some indication if my planned date needs to be moved or not.

Hopefully TSC was using this week to get transfers and stuff organized, and maybe next week they will start plowing through applications - one can hope right? Either that, or have a meltdown, which I'm very close to at this point.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Vietnam
Timeline

Another 6 months of processing AFTER the approval? Yeah, that person has absolutely no clue. I'm not going to gloss it over and say it won't probably be another couple of months after your approval before you've got visa in hand, but shouldn't be that long. Not unless there is something difficult with your case or your embassy handles cases at a snails pace.

It's absolutely possible depending on the embassy. Like I said above, available slots for interviews for vietnam are 2-3 months out from the approval to interview. It's really not that hilarious. It could actually be more than 6 months.
