The NOA-1 date is the date on the paper copy. USCIS only displays the receive date. Usually, they are within a few days of each other - i.e. in my case, received Dec 26th, NOA-1 Dec 29th.

USCIS will send all mail to your fiance in NJ. You will not receive mail until the embassy phase.

Some of us didn't. I fell to pieces. Every day. Several times a day. Right up until we got approved 2 weeks ago.

What has made this more difficult is that we braced ourselves for the worst, which at the time of filing was just under 5 months, while hoping for the best with the August transfers which were supposed to reduce wait times. Each time you reach the next goal, they move it and then pretend nothing ever changed, leaving you feeling even more helpless. I wish I had a penny for every time I have wished USCIS top brass could have had a glimpse into our lives as human beings, waiting and what we go through. It affects you psychologically, emotionally and ends up taking it's toll on your overall health. And all this, while any 'normal' couple would be on a constant high, making wedding plans and celebrating with friends. It's utterly disgraceful.

All of this is of no help to you, I know, but maybe you can take some comfort knowing that many of us understand how you feel. Eventually you realize you are allowed to be sad and upset. You've earned it. It hurts because you care. (F)

thanks you.

Really Im falling to pieces evens when im sleeping, I can't concentrate on my life. and make me sad in stead of being very happy and start preparing for the wedding.

I hear you - some days this consumes me all day and it's all I can focus on. I just can't imagine what the TSC looks like for things to be this in-efficient - I know they receive tons of applications of varying types, but there has to be a better way so that applications are processed timely. I feel hosed for doing things the proper way (not that I would ever not ) but this is why things are so out of control here.

Everything that's been said today is spot on. Cscers can't even begin to comprehend the emotions. It's heartbreaking to watch us all go through this. So many of us are really reaching an emotional tipping point right now. And it's coming out on vj in some pretty bad ways (I'm guilty of it too).

As always, wishing for approvals for all sept filers every day.

As recently as a week ago I was hoping for an approval prior to the next "normal processing times window" update. But that was before the announcement of the transfer. Now I'm simply waiting on the aforementioned update to see just how far they'll move it ahead in time. And because of the transfer, I'm a little concerned that it won't be that far; ergo, we'll get another June 6th to June 25th type of BS update. LOL

We'll see......

Meanwhile it's day 202 for me. Sigh.

Yeah Sandra, I agree. Such a woefully abysmal update would indeed suck a$$. Thank you for the thoughts regarding our son. We're focusing on the good associated with that life (changing) event and trying to stay positive. Funny, but Elena recently learned the meaning and significance of the word effing and uses it on occasion when we speak about our petition. And she's not one to swear much, if at all, so it means something when she does. LOL  It will most definitely blow wind if I have to return without them, even for a short time, simply because of the hacked-up mess that is the TSC/USCIS and the severe processing times imbalance.

That said, in one regard all is good though. We have a baby boy on the way and it's difficult to not be excited about that. Both grandmas are going crazy. LOL

I've long since had everything prepared for the fiance visa interview, so I've been working on the CRBA stuff. Kinda got that together too, though I've been making copies of everything in triplicate, which is mundane, time-consuming manual work, but that somehow passes the time a little easier 'cause such work is done in the context of being prepared for the upcoming phases of our respective petitions' overall processes.

Anyway.....anyone else finding themselves making extra copies or putting everything onto a flash drive to prepare? LOL I have everything we need, short of her medical and the detailed information of our son's birth (cause it hasn't happened yet), copied in triplicate and stored on flash drives. So I can say to the CO "would you like that in paper or electronic form? Or both?" LOL

In the big picture that won't matter of course, but it does help pass the time, as I mentioned. Crazy what you do to fill it when your a TSC filer, right?

I am at the point where I am close to losing it. Every night faithfully I log into USCIS from about 8pm until 10pm checking for any update while at the same time refreshing Igor's list to see if anyone has gotten word. I hate that TSC has such power over me. Every night I go to bed heartbroken. This is just taking its toll on me. NOTHING can ever make up for this pain and anguish we are forced to go through. To see TSC get slower and slower just pisses me off. My worst fear is that seeing so many August filer and even July filers waiting I might be sitting here until May or June to even get an approval.

Hi everyone,

It is close to 7 months for us now... and we haven't heard anything since early September when our case was received at TSC :(

I am currently on hold with USCIS to speak with a Tier Two officer. I have currently been on hold for 45 minutes after being told that the wait time was 5 minutes... I am wondering if anyone knows if my fiancé can call USCIS and get information about our case as well, or if it can only be the US citizen who calls. I am going to wait on hold for another 15-20 minutes but then I need to get on with my work day.

Thanks :)

Update:

Just got off the phone with the Tier 2 officer. I asked if my case was assigned to anyone and he told me that they do not release that information.

He told me that my NOA 1 date is September 2nd which is interesting because I thought it was the 5th. When I asked what he recommend I do, he said that I should wait until our application is outside of normal processing times AND wait an additional 30 days to give the office time to finish all the applications... as if we haven't waited long enough! He said I should call back in 1.5 months.

Obviously this is not what I wanted to hear. Hoping that I just get my approval before then!
