UPDATE:

I called and spoke with congressman Carter's office this morning. Our letter requesting a transfer was sent last week. She said it would take about two weeks before we hear anything. I also mentioned that April and other VJers have written to their reps and mentioned congressman Carter's initiative. She told me that this is a very good thing because with more reps behind such an initiative, the stronger message we will send.

Therefore I ask all of you who read this to find your local rep, write to them, make your complaint regarding the processing time difference known, and mention the action that my congressman has taken. Hopefully with enough awareness that would be brought forward by your letters, maybe we can get something done.

Thanks. I'll let y'all know when I know more.

I emailed mine again last night. Also the white house. My co-worker is a rep for USCIS bc she does student visas. She said get a packet together, statistics, our petition, responses from Congress/Sentate and fedex to the White House so we know it's received. She's been working with USCIS since 1999 and knows what people go through at TSC on the student end. Stef is slammed today and I'm working from the hospital (my boss is sick) but Erika Presson made us a google survery that we will get out to include in sending. It can't hurt. Thoughts on getting together PDF's of responses and letters to include? Before sending we can black out case numbers.

11/15/2013- Met John

10/27/2014- Proposed

11/26/2014- Sent I-129F

11/28/2014- Package Received

12/03/2014- Electronic Notification

12/09/2014- Received NOA1 in mail (Notice Date 12/02/2014)

*System still says last touched date 12/03 :(

Hey Kristin-

Ok cool, thank you and Stef for your tireless on-going efforts, I appreciate it. Great that you have a contact at the USCIS. Her plan of action sounds solid. As for letters and responses, I have the following table:

CONTACT LETTER SENT RESPONSE RECEIVED SUMMARY

Senator John Cornyn 1/19/15 1/31/15 (letter) Bunch of horseapples

Senator Ted Cruz 1/19/15 None N/A

Congressman John Carter 1/19/15 1/21/15 (phone call) Letter sent to USCIS

So basically I can offer to send you an email with copies of the letters I sent. I don't know if Cornyn's BS letter would help or not, and in fact I don't even remember what I did with it. I think it's on the top of my chest-o-drawers, which is where it randomly landed after I tossed it. But I could scan it in and send that too if we thought it'd do any good. And of course I didn't get a letter from congressman Carter's office, only a phone call.

So let me know how I can help. Send me a PM with your contact info if necessary.

Thanks much! :)

Kristin-

Just as a side note, if you and Stef are consumed with the other efforts, I can volunteer to compile a packet and send it to the white house by fedex. So just let me know what I can do.

Thanks!

You rock, let me talk to her. I'm working 40 hrs, doing my masters, have a 7 yr old and 2 dogs, so my free time is scarce. But.....I called the ombudsman and they put me though to the person about this so crossing fingers that they call back (mind you this was after 7 redirected calls lol)

Going to email cisombudsman@hq.dhs.gov again too.

I'll keep in touch when I'm out of work :)

Ok I want to get started with compiling the contents of the packet. Therefore Sandra, Kristin, Stef, April, pfredricksen and anyone else who is reading this post and who has written to a rep, please send me whatever you have at this point. The letters you sent, the reply letters (if any) and any other stuff you wanna add. If you have some stats you'd like to be certain get included, send me those too. Sending that by PM should be ok (we can do attachments), but if you'd prefer to send your stuff to me directly, then send me a PM and I'll message you back with my email address.

I'll start putting everything together. Kristin, was/is there a specific address that your friend in the USCIS recommended that we send the packet to?

Thanks

This process is beyond unfair. TSC victims have to wait 8-10 months for a visa and the CSC knocks it out in 3 months!!!
