Rich called USCIS.. again.. got told that our case had not been opened or assigned to anybody, and to wait 30 days. The lady then kindly hung up on him.

I can't even understand how these people sleep at night.

I did my waiting! 9 months of it.. IN TSC!

No word for any of you??!?!?! Boy, that hacks me off. Ok reset. Crossing fingers for tonight!

Mewbear, in light of what you're experiencing I must tip my hat to you for asking about Elena and David. Thank you so much! Unfortunately no, there is no news for us either. I suppose that the curse of the TSC continues for me. In Moscow you must wait for an email from the embassy with instructions on how to go about scheduling your interview. Even if you've already paid the fee and completed the DS-160, which we have. Today is day 14 of that wait. There is a CSC filer who submitted his petition in April, got approved in early May and who has already been cleared to schedule his interview, even though his petition arrived at the embassy *after* mine did. It's "first come - first served" BTW, or at least it's supposed to be. So as you can imagine I am quite frustrated. I have decided to wait until the end of the week before sending an email to inquire as to the status. I've heard reports of 15 or 16 days of waiting, so I'll give it that before continuing. But it still hacks me off....don't get me started. lol

Of course Jerry! I hope you'll be able to come home together. How long can you stay in Russia?

Don't get me started on the first come first served, I wish they'd realise they're toying with people's lives. I'll be thinking of you, hope you get to bring your family home soon!

I did my waiting! 9 months of it.. IN TSC!

For those still waiting - sorry, guys, I realize "knowing how it feels" doesn't help you.

FWIW my congressman's assistant contacted me today, told me that she was notified we are approved (well, I know that) and said she's following through with an NVC. That was good to hear - someone actually trying to help, presumably.

Correlation is not causation, of course - as there is no rhyme or reason to when petitions are approved, but since we were approved after congressman's office made an inquiry, may be? So, if you have not done so yet - reach out to your local representative. It can't hurt, it might help, and at a very least it makes you feel like you have a bit more input in the situation.

Contacting ombudsman appeared to be quite useless, they only responded after approval.

I hate to think that exactly the same thing happens to my file.

If I was able to go there I'd come in Miley style, like a wrecking ball and f**k their sh#t up.

We did not emailed the ombudsman, or the congressman, maybe we should. Kinda feel like I've been hit in the face with a brick. We've been waiting 8.5 months for something that is 3.5 months overdue and someone has the nerves to say "just wait another month". Can't believe I ever felt sorry for the workers, I have a few words of choice for them right now.

I did my waiting! 9 months of it.. IN TSC!

Thank you patiandjoe, imagining you on top of a wrecking ball made me chuckle :D

I don't know what baffles me the most, that our case hasn't been assigned, or that the lady on the phone said that with no shame, remorse or empathy whatsoever. They can all go suck a big one. Pardon my language.

Crossing my fingers for your inquiry tonight.. Rich will call back first thing monday morning. So over this.

I just wanted to pop in and let you guys know that I'm thinking about you all - every day. I'm still following this thread - I've just been a bit distracted. But I'm here, I'm watching, and my fingers are crossed for ALL of you September filers who remain. I can't get over how long it's taking to clear out September.

And Mewbear, I can't even believe the way USCIS treated Rich when he called. "Just wait another 30 days", because over 8 months isn't ludicrous enough! I mean, the fact that it's been over 8 months and that the USCIS filing time, even as per the Website, states that they are working on cases well after your file date and yours shows as not being opened or assigned yet...is freaking ridiculous. That would be cause for them to look into that, don't you think?

:ranting:

Today also got a letter from the senator's office. They enclosed actual reply from USCIS (that also states our case was approved). What was interesting is that senator's office does actually have a direct contact at TSC (as seen from message headers). So they do indeed have a way of getting someone to listen over there.

That is to say - write your representatives and make them work for you. Based on (circumstantial) evidence so far it may work.

I just read Mewbear's post to my fiancé and his only response was "wow". He's not even that much into visa and wait talk but even that made him angry. This is truly making me angry. I'm so sorry Flo. I pray for you every day and every day I hope you get approved.

Ok, so when I was stalking my case for months upon end, I checked the 10 case numbers within my range. My Receipt date was 9/19, and I found a few numbers around mine with the same date. I watched as a number of them were approved early April. I eventually received an RFE on 4/30, however I continued to watch the numbers to see which ones still hadn't been touched. I just checked and the lone receipt number from the batch I was watching received an RFE tonight. If that is anyone here, I know that the RFE adds time, but at least the case has been looked at. I am hoping and praying that the rest of the September filers still waiting also hear something about their cases tonight.

Many hugs to all!
