A year?! Oh my gosh! You two deserve an award!

Yep, he was here last August and left September 7th if I remember correctly. I wrapped up the paperwork, and it was shipped off on September 18th, with our wedding set for this September 12th. At the time, it seemed so far away.

We didn't want to risk any issues with visits in between, so we decided that we would use that as time for him to save some money, especially since he will have to travel to London twice - once for medical and once for interview.

It was hard to go through Christmas without him, as we've been together 12 years and he has been here every Christmas. Though, the waiting was livable until we hit about the 6 month mark in TSC, the next two months were difficult. Mostly because as we waited and waited, the wedding date was creeping closer and becoming more in question. Even though we have NOA2, I will feel better once we get out of TSC permanently.

Here's hoping that the end of this week brings good news for everyone still waiting for something :)

My fiance and I usually see each other every four or five months; we are now going on six months and don't plan on making the (expensive) trip until he immigrates here, which we are expecting to be September because he is finishing a contract with his employer. At that point it will have been nine months. It's comforting knowing we are not the only couple being apart for so long; most of my friends are so shocked that we can go long and sometimes it almost makes me feel like a bad person for not being physically together more (even though we are constantly in contact via Facebook and Skype). However, we are both young and don't have a lot of money, and the visa process makes it very difficult and risky to plan trips overseas. I'm with you on this, it take a lot of strength to get through this but I don't have to tell you that it will be so worth it in the end.

I didn't seen mine for over 1 year now..that's the army life you get used to it

My fiancé is in the Army too so I'm used to the coming and going, but this process has been just awful.

He is leaving for field training in July, and knowing he might not be there to pick me up at the airport just sucks.

I did my waiting! 9 months of it.. IN TSC!

It is a common RFE. Did you provide letters of intent to marry from both the petitioner and the beneficiary with your original filing?

Thanks for answering. I'm not sure about me, I don't remember, but she definitely did. Should I get the banquet hall contract, wedding announcements, etc, with a fictitious date on them or should I have them drafted with "a potential date" pending USCIS/embassy approval?

We deserve a big bottle of wine and some chocolate ladies! The airport reunion is going to be amazing though! So much happiness :)

No, that's being dishonest if there is no actual or real date. Send a written and signed statement from each of you again stating that you are able to and that your intention is to marry within 90 days with approval of a K1 visa. If you didn't send one then that's what they want. If you both did, then it's possible they lost it or are being.... stupid. ;)

I went over for Christmas, I had brought a copy of our NOA1, a letter from my job saying I was expected to be back at a certain time and the proof of my flight back. The agent didn't look at any of it! I told him right away that I was in the middle of a K1 visa, he asked me if I knew I couldn't get married on this trip, I said : "yeah, we're doing things by the rules" and that was all :)

He wished me congratulation on my engagement, and said we were brave to spend so much time apart. I know it's a stressful moment (I was SO worried to be denied) but it went really smoothly.. and I went through JFK which is known to be somewhat strict.

Breath and enjoy your time over! :)
