My congressman's office has made the same inquiries a number of times and I've posted those response here....a number of times.

Regardless, what I said wasn't wrong. If it was of any help, you'd be out of this thread with your NOA2. Congressman (or you) cannot influence the speed or outcome of this process by law...with exceptions of expedites which follow the guidelines, or you are outside of processing times (which they make sure you never will be).

They are two different types of inquiries. One personal, one congressional.

I don't believe I ever said that I thought I could influence outcome. Speed? Possibly.

11/15/2013- Met John

10/27/2014- Proposed

11/26/2014- Sent I-129F

12/03/2014- Electronic Notification

12/09/2014- Received NOA1 in mail (Notice Date 12/02/2014)

Hi Mewbear and Dana-Kristen,

Absolutely! I plan to hang around and support the remainder of the September filers until we're all approved. I hope that's ok; I don't wanna irk anyone by being present when the approval has already came through for me. Anyway I'm here to offer support and empathy, though many of you have surpassed my 221 days by now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your respective loved ones during this ordeal!

Thank both of you for asking about Elena and David. I don't recall what I've posted regarding the matter, so forgive me if this is a repeat. Between diaper-changing and burping duties, amongst others I don't have time right now to go back and take a look. Anyway, both mom and son are doing well. There were no complications with the birth, for which I was quite grateful. I have the CRBA scheduled for next Thursday, as it was the first available. The tall pole in the tent remains the fiance visa. They held onto my petition for 9 days at the TSC prior to sending it to the NVC; and it's unclear just how long it will require during that pit stop enroute to the embassy in Moscow. Fortunately between the 2 weeks of paternity leave and the vacation time I've saved during the past couple of years, I will be able to stay here for a little while. Just not sure if it'll be enough time for us to return together as a family. I plan to ask the folk in the embassy if there's any possibility of an expedited interview date for Elena while we are there for the CRBA thing, though not holding out much hope for that. Anyway, we'll see. There's a chance of it all coming together, but not a great one. As wbeem and others have said, the TSC and USCIS are definitely not on the wedding invitation list, nor the Christmas card list nor anything else. LOL

For whatever reason, not many folk post pictures on VJ. I suspect it has something to do with privacy reasons or the like; perhaps they don't want to put anything out there that the USCIS could "use against them" or something along those lines. Or they just don't want the many thousands of people who frequent VJ to see their pictures. Be all of that as it may, I've posted a pic in the past and would like to offer a couple more. I don't want this to come across in any way "negative" or like I'm celebrating some type of victory now that I have my NOA2. In fact, it's kinda the opposite. There's a very good chance that I'll need to leave them behind due to the TSC delays; so please take that into consideration. But at the moment I am trying to not focus on all of that and just enjoy what time we have together. Being grateful for what we have and just doing the best to achieve the goal of good family life. That's where I (we) am (are) right now. That said, picture 1 is the new budding family as we left the hospital and picture 2 is dad and son once we were home. Perhaps these can give y'all some hope; and having said that, it almost seems a bit trite to think that it would have that effect. But oh well, that's the hope and reason I share this glimpse behind the VJ scenes into our lives. Now if the remainder of the process would just cooperate!

Y'all hang tough. I'm praying for you!

Awesome! Congrats on the little one. It sucks you couldn't be there, but it still has to have been exciting.

At least the hard part is almost over.

Congratulations on the baby! Things are going to get only better from there on :) (Well, until kids hit the pre-teen years, then TSC is going to seem like cakewalk :) )

Dear KristinD,

Our NOA1 dates 9.9.2014 and still nothing, so my fiance wanted to file or inquiry online "outside normal processing time" but he couldn't since TCS is still processing August 23.

We don't know what should we do now.. You seem you know whole process how should it go

What else can we do now? Talk to Tier 2? do we just call them and ask them to transfer our call to Tier2?

Thank You

I called USCIS and asked to speak to Tier 2 officer. There is no need to stay on the line - they have a callback system. (It said I will receive a callback in 45 minutes but took just under 2 hours, guess they are busy)

According to Tier 2 - "my case was touched on April 25th, so it's being 'looked at'". He also told me that since it's been so long (7.5 months), I can file an inquiry (regardless of what current processing times are), but that since it's "being worked on" - inquiry may not do much, so he doesn't recommend it.

I suspect that my NOA1 date will be "above published processing times" at next update (unless they stop at Sept. 1 which is possible, of course) so I can file an inquiry myself soon. In any case - if it's been "long enough" it is evidently possible to file an inquiry no matter what the web site says.

I'm curious about these "Processing Times" now. From what I remember, they're updated usually within the first week of the month, right? (The current one was posted on April 13th)

Now let's say the date shown on the site passes the date that one received the NOA1... Would that mean that person, at long last, is able to file an inquiry without getting "You're within normal processing time" ?

Petition was sent to Texas Service Center --- 08/24/14

NOA1 received --- 09/10/14

Yes, that is the concept.

I personally fear they will only advance a week or two or maybe not advance at all.

Goodbye sucks. Especially when you are long overdue for approval. May this be the very last time you have to part ways, Sandra. (F)
