I see people who sent their application and got their NOA1 after mine getting approved and it's giving me both frustration and a glimpse of hope. " We will be next.. but why are they being approved before us?..".

At that point I'll even be happy with RFE (although goodness, I can't take any set backs) but we just need to know someone opened our darned case!

My fiancé and I joked about TSC dropping a bin of files and just picking them up randomly, but now it seems more probable that they are just uncompetent.

Reading the posts about people's approvals give me just enough hope not to go crazy.. but it's seriously nervewrecking.

Only a few more weeks before your interview.. the light at the end of the tunnel! :D

I hope you get to be back with your love in no time :)

As explained by my congressman's office, approvals come at different times for different people due to background checks not necessarily coming back in order. They use different companies based on countries and other factors. The background check may be submitted first come first serve, but when it comes back will be uneven.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Figured I'd check USCIS one more time before bed and the text was noticeably shorter than before. I could barely contain myself and couldn't read it straight; kept scanning the few words to tell me what I was reading. Then finally I saw: "was approved".

WOOOHOOOO!!!

No other notification yet. Can't wait to surprise the fiancee in the morning!

While it may makes perfect sense, it's still no comfort at all.

This whole process take a toll on you that's undeniable.

I don't think it's evil to feel some incomprehension, jealousy, or even sadness seeing cases more recent being approved before yours.

I understand that it's not first come first serve, but it doesn't make it any less disappointing.

Not having any cards in your hands is just very frustrating.

I was just explaining why the approvals don't come in order. I didn't suggest that it makes it feel any better.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else here. Trust me.

I didn't suggest that it should make anyone feel better. It's how the process works though.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I've been waiting just as long. Understanding the process and not feeling like you are skipped over because someone was approved before you were shouldn't make you feel less important though. We are all going through the same struggle.

Sorry if I came across as a little aggressive, taking it on other people in the same situation is/was never my intention.

I think we are all getting close to our blow up point. You can be the most optimistic person and tell yourself : "tomorrow will be our turn", seeing your case unchanged is just discouraging.

Tomorrow guys, tomorrow.

I really think that the number of approved petitions on VJ is higher from what it says. this is what I found looking at the September timelines.

Error = 12 Timelines (when you click it gives you an error)

Private = 7 timelines (Does not show when was last active)

October = 1 Timelines (Last time active)

December = 3 Timelines (Last time active))

Feb = 5 Timelines (Last time active)

March = 9 Timelines (Last time active)

Sep =2 Timelines (Last time active)

Nov =1 Timeline (Last time active)

Jan =3 Timelines (Last time active)

None selectable = 31 Timelines (You cannot select, these timelines are almost never updated looking at the approved petitions/unapproved from previous months)

These are 74 timelines that most likely will never be updated.

There are 125 unapproved petitions from September – 74(might not be updated) it gives only 51 timelines that are active from April 1st to April 17th.

Haha, I have done that excercise before - no I do not bother anymore...

But yeah, there are always 15-30% of petitions that do not get updatet. But just because they weren't updated means they were approved...

So I am guessing September will be close to done when there are 50-60 remaining timelines on visajourney - as for the previous months. So about 70-80 more to go on VJ. Come on TSC, you can knock those out in a week!
