Another VJer mentioned this and I just may swipe their idea: once all of this is over I am seriously considering sending the USCIS and the TSC an invoice for all of the additional expenses that we have incurred due to the processing time imbalance and excessive delays. Obviously they'll do nothing with it, but it might (maybe, dunno) make me feel just a little better. LOL

9/8/14 - I129F petition sent to the USCIS lockbox via USPS
9/11/14 - Petition received @ USCIS lockbox
9/11/14 - NOA1 Email and text message received
9/15/14 - NOA1 Official notice date
9/18/14 - NOA1 hard copy received
12/9/14 - "Updated" likely because of website repairs, like many of us received
4/20/15 - NOA2 text and email (221 days)

4/29/15 - Sent to the NVC (9 days)

5/8/15 - Arrived at the NVC (9 days)

5/13/15 - Left the NVC (5 days)

5/15/15 - Electronic version arrived at the embassy (2 days)

5/20/15 - Paper copy arrived at the embassy (7 days)

6/4/15 - Status changed to AP (which meant that we could schedule the interview)

6/16/15 - Medical

6/17/15 - K1 APPROVED!!!!

6/30/15 - Passport and sealed envelope delivered via courier

I think it may have been me that said that previously, traveling to Dubai is not cheap Im 2 trips in with 1 more planned for June which should have been by our calculation been close to time for his interview but now its more of I miss you too much to go that long without seeing you trip. Then there will hopefully only be 1 more when I go there either for his interview or to make the trip back here with him. From my calculations I will be out over $10,000 in unexpected plane tickets, hotel and international travel plan from my phone provider(I am self employed and able to work abroad so this does not include a loss of income even though there was some). So Im looking at a total of 5 trips to Dubai 1 before we filed when we met in person for the first time which is not in the calculation and 4 unplanned trips just because we are expecting this process to take at least a year when we originally planned for 6 months. My wait is no where near as long as yours but if things keep slowing like they are even with the rerouting of new cases I have a feeling we will see the wait get much closer to 300 which is what I think I need to be planning for now. So maybe a spring wedding next year, I have lost all hope at this point of him being here by the end of this year.

Skip the whole invoice part and file a lawsuit against the government. It doesn't take even that much more effort to file. It'll get people's attention as well.

Don't need a lawyer to do it, especially if you just want to make a statement. I've been considering the same.

Wow so some of you who received their NOA1 from TSC after Sept. 8 (when we received ours) are already seeing NOA2s. We haven't gotten ours yet. Anyone else like this? Obviously they're not exactly working sequentially.

Also, regarding the RFE on the letter of intent, we both signed a single document saying we were to get married within 90 days of her entry, hopefully that's sufficient...right?

217 days and counting...

Yes! Our case is the exact same thing. Our NOA1 notice date is September 8th (which for some reason I was thinking is September 4th for the past months). Still no approval. Just waiting. Every morning waking up to see the text message but nope. Nothing. Edited by k1visajourney

RE the proof of intent to marry, after reading other comments in VJ I think I will add other documents to my fiancé's statement: A statement by the father and mother. I will also send copies of my passport stamps of the visits I did in December and March plus photos, as proof of an ongoing relationship. If they are enough I will resubmit.

But I have decided to stop freaking out about this never ending process. We will keep going until the government accepts that our relationship actually exists. This summer I have planned to go to visit my parents homeland in South America and take my bf with me for a month June/July). I cannot handle another full summer of 100 F in Sto. Domingo, lol. I was afraid that the embassy would give us a date for an interview during our trip but their window is too big "120 days from the time they receive our paperwork". We have decided to take a chance and leave the island for a while. Worse case scenario we will reschedule...and wait longer.

Thanks for giving me an opportunity to vent

Me too, NOA 9/12 , still nothing so far. Understood your feeling since I'm doing the same thing like you

Funny. I saw another VJer noting that the USCIS, in all of its wonderful bewilderment, suggested in their RFE to the aforementioned VJer that they include evidence of wedding announcements and plans. Duh...........USCIS get your cr@p together! How in the hell are we supposed to provide such evidence when we are not able to make such arrangements due to the unpredictability of the excessive delays??!?! It'd be ridiculous if it wasn't so S-T-U-P-I-D.

What a load of horseapples.

I absolutely couldn't believe this! I'd love to send you a wedding invitation USCIS, but how can we?!

You're nice. You are allowed cake. No cake for TSC though.

Thank you. We are really enjoying watching our timeline fill up. It's funny how we waited nearly 8 months with 3 lines in our signature and it's three times as long now, after under a month of escaping the service center. We are now in our final 'waiting void' where there is nothing we can do but wait for the embassy to assign an interview and send Packet 4. We are really hoping they step on it for us.

I was saying on another thread last night, over the months on this forum we have seen so many people saying that this process teaches patient. It has done nothing of the sort for me. If anything, I am unreasonably impatient now. I even get irritated when I have to stand and wait for coffee to brew. We still keep an eye on the daily approvals, willing them to get cracking and finish off September. It's such an unfair system.

Yes I'm serious, but I will be doing it myself. You guys don't like what I have to say anyways, so it'd just add more drama to what is already hard enough.
