 I phoned the NVC last night (PH time), the nice lady on the phone asked for the receipt number.. I was abit expecting her to say that they do not have our receipt number on their record but she followed up with questions: What is the beneficiary's name and birthdate. I gave the details and she said "and the petitioners' number is blah blah blah. We received this petition May 15.."

Woooww!! I really ran out of words and just told her "Oh, really?!" (LOL) "Thank you".. Forgot to ask if we already have a case number.. Anywho, I'm really happy that we havent gotten an RFE (after all this time that we are expecting we will)..

Goodluck to the rest of January filers... :) And I surely owe this thread and the VJ-Jan filers big time! Thanks guys!

FutureMrs, hang in there it is coming...

Thanks, I am trying believe you me!

Congrats on the recent touches and approvals!

The lady from my congressman's office called to tell me that she spoke with CSC and the lady was nice and told her it can take about 2 weeks to enter my RFE information and update my account. The lady told her to call again next Friday.

Sarah,

It's great your application is moving forward, but I'm surprised how little new information a congressman's influence gets. Your information helps us, though. My last touch was May 11, two weeks will be next Friday, May 24th. Thank you for posting the update.

I should have flown "Ski" to Mexico last December, then just drove across the border. She could have full U.S. citizenship before the general elections November 2008!:lol:

Sky, have you tried calling the NVC or for an RFE? They are being SO horrible about e-mailing and sending out the paper copy. I can't believe how many of us who were touched twice and then heard nothing actually had been approved with the 1st touch.

I haven't called NVC yet, but this sounds like a good idea. Thank you!

so at least something is happening, I just wish it was not a RFE. I have just received the email (twice), I hope the snail mail arrives soon. :ranting:

believe it or not, they are asking for IMBRA waiver! My SO (the USC) married a German in 2000 while he was in the US on a journalist visa so we answered YES to question 11 on the I-129F

see my question here on VJ back then

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;#entry599827

But that was years ago! And Anna never filed for any other K1 or K3 or anything so why the hell do they come up with IMBRA?

Anyways, I will do some research now and I hope a simple letter will solve this issue.

Congrats on all the NOAs! I will be catching up with you guys. Maybe we should throw a party together one day when we have all arrived

It appears we're caught in the "January NOA1 Doldrums." There are many, many February NOA1s that already have their NOA2s. I'll probably get an RFE next week, dated three weeks ago...

Yeah.... We're in the same boat, as well...

We've been RFE'd as well, and it seems to be taking FOREVER for them to get to it!!!

Though I wonder if AMBRA is interfering in some way shape or form...

I called CSC, my petition is still on the hold shelf. I asked the guy if he could light a fire under someone's butt but they are "untouchables"! lol He did say things are slow because of the work visas, a whole backlog of them. He also said he might go to another country to find the love of his life! lol He was nice.

Sarah,

How did you get someone at CSC to tell you your file is in a "hold" area? Or was he speaking only in general about a "hold" area? I've never gotten anyone at the USCIS customer service 1-800 number to do anything but read what I see on line: 'On January 26 we received your I-129f..."

MSU17,

I called both USCIS and the NVC. USCIS has no new information, RFE or otherwise. Just the standard "We received your application... pending." NVC has not received my package from CSC yet.
