Okay, so 15 days later I finally get the email from USCIS stating that on June 20, we mailed you bla bla bla. So, if they are just getting my approval sent, does this mean those pricks haven't sent our petition to NVC yet? Oh I am going to be so mad if this is the case.

Don't think so. It says they sent you a letter, not that they sent your case to the NVC on the 20th. With my RFE it was the other way round, the email said "on May 11th we sent ..." and the letter left the CSC not earlier than the 16th. I think it is an standard template that uses the date the email is triggered and it does not mean a thing regarding the date your case left the building.

Anyway, don't worry, it will be on its way and that is what really counts. Don't let them drive you mad (well, in a few days you will tell me the same thing LOL ;-) )

I hope so. And I hope you are right about the sending of our case to the NVC. I called them again this morning, still no receipt of it. Is it pretty sad that I have their number memorized, as well as the prompts, our case number also???? I'm thinking yes, this is pretty pathetic!!! Thus far, the squeeky wheel is not getting the grease!!!! Our case status has changed to approval, and touched again today. Hey btw, do you know where Reingau is? I finally found a part of my family, have been trying to locate them for years. They have a vineyard in Reingau I think, I got the website, but of course I can't speak German, so I don't know what it says.

Rheingau is a nice area in Hessen, not too far away from Frankfurt am Main. It is famous for its good white wines. When I was a kid we went there for our family vacation. :)

Hi my friends!

I finally made it home! :dancing:

When I was leaving this place and my Fiance here on January 9, I couldn't imagine being away for over 5 months. It was a looong wait, longer than we thought, but now I'm back and it feels like it was yesterday when I left. We are incredibly happy!!

I flew Prague to New York JFK on Saturday, got there at 1:44pm and at 2:30pm (checked my watch) was through immigration and customs - pretty fast I thought. I had a four-hour layover, just in case. I was fortunate that there was no line at the immigration inspection when our flight arrived and I was towards the front of the plane, so I only waited for about 5 minutes before I spoke to the immigration officer. First he asked the obligatory "What's the purpose of your trip?" question and I thought it was funny when I answered "To get married" :D He opened the big envelope and glanced through all the papers, especially looked at the results of the medical exam. He asked some questions (more than the consul at the embassy!) about when we met, when the wedding is etc. (again, same as at the embassy, I was being "naughty" and volunteered information - I can't help it!) and gave me some stamps in the passport and on the I-94. Then he sent me with all the paperwork to the secondary inspection. I was surprised that the secondary inspection area was in the big luggage claim open space. No offices, just a restricted area separated by railing. I turned in all the documents to another officer and she told me to sit down and wait. There were people that came before me, so I thought this would take some time. As I was sitting I was watching the carousel trying to locate my luggage - which I succeeded in. After a mere 10-minute wait the lady called me back to the desk and gave me my passport with the I-94 attached, stamped with expiration date September 21 and with the work authorization stamp on the back, plus a stamped customs declaration. And that was it, she said I'm free to go. Huh?, I thought, that was too easy  Now I think she should have told me about the requirements (wedding within 90 days and then filing AOS papers), but she didn't say anything. I retrieved my bags, got waved through customs and re-checked my luggage around the corner.

What followed was a nightmare though. I had about a four-hour wait in front of me for my connecting flight to San Francisco. I tried to get on an earlier plane, but wasn't successful. I spoke to my Fiance over the phone and eventually got to my gate. At this point I already knew the flight will be delayed because the first leg of the flight from Rome was getting to JFK about 1 hour late. To make the story short, instead of at 6:40pm the plane left around 11pm (not sure about exact time as I was in delirium by then). We were through gate and plane change, waiting forever for permission to push back from the gate, waiting in the line of 15 planes on the take off runway just to return back to the gate after several minutes because the captain realized there were only two lavatories working on our plane. Back at the gate we had a technician repair the lavatories and only after then fiiiinally we got to leave the airport. I want to point out that it was a Delta flight and the customer service from all the Delta employees sucked big time! It was an agonizing experience. All I got on the plane was a small bottle of water. The only good thing is that I slept during the whole 5.5-hour flight. We landed at SFO at 1:40am Sunday morning local time. My Dearest was waiting for me there and we were both so happy it is all behind us and now we can be together forever. We got home at 3am, after 29 hours of traveling, I was ready for some good night sleep...

Everything is great now though. Yesterday we went for lunch to our favorite Greek restaurant and out for a bike ride. I will start working later this week (same company where I did my internship last year) and we have tons of things to do before our wedding. But I'll be back on VJ checking on you guys! Good luck with your interviews and travels!!

Praise God! Teddy's visa was approved this morning!!!!!

Yes! Now I finally get to buy his plane ticket. :D

His interview went well but was a little strange. The lady was only interested in our e-mails. She asked him 5 questions. One of which was, "where (city) does your fiance go to school?" He answered correctly, "Nashville". And she said no, Washington DC. So he was like, "I don't know what to tell you but I know she goes to school in Nashville." Then she approved him. I guess it was a test....lol.
