Quick question about 'given name' on EAD

There's a long back story to this that I wouldn't bear to repeat: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/508984-changing-name-on-ssn-k-1-visa-applicant-not-maiden-name-related/

But quick question. I just received my EAD card today. Assuming that my name is the following:

First name: Michael

Middle name: Peter Tom

I have two words in my middle name that I used in the EAD and GC application. But in the 'given name' section of the card, it's only appearing as 'Michael P', with my middle name abbreviated into a letter (instead of being spelled out in full or abbreviated into two letters, ie: PT instead of just P). I'm not familiar with the US naming conventions, but is this 'correct'?

The reason I'm asking is because I need to go back to SSA to correct my first name and middle name that's appearing on the SSN, as per the topic that I linked to.

Thanks!
