Sorry to hear about this. You have to wait for the official USCIS letter in order to determine what your next course of action should be. To make comment on possible reasons without the official letter is purely speculative and of marginal utility.

Hang in there, and wait for the letter, then go from there.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Did you use the guides here on VJ to assemble your package? Was all the necessary paperwork included and correctly done? You stated you've been waiting 4 mos but ur profile says you've been a member only 2 now. So I'm not sure if you had the advantage of all the great information and resources available here. If not maybe you can regroup, reorganize a better package and refile? (If that's the reason....)

So sorry to hear ur disappointing news :(

Best of Luck.

Hi,

No, we followed a guide from the US gov to do it, not VJ.

:(

Well maybe that's all it is then and you can assemble a new and improved package! I know you lost valuable time and $$ but at least its not the end of the world! Wait and see what the letter says. Try not to worry too much. Stay positive!

I've never heard of people being denied after receiving their NOA1 but before receiving an RFE or NOA2.

That's why waiting for the letter is necessary. Just trying to help her think positive and not assume the worst. There are many possible reasons. Time will tell.

I have. If they only sent the petition itself with no supporting evidence at all they send the entire package back.

That's what I was thinking....especially since they didn't use the VJ guides maybe they didn't know to include all necessary proof of meeting, USC citizenship, etc etc

It's not necessarily bad. My NOA1 and NOA2 were received after my original documents were returned. I would say call USCIS and ask them what happened. It took about 4 months for that to happen for me, so it would seem to be on normal schedule depending on the service center.
