K1 Suggestions PAKISTAN-UK

I am a new member of this website.

I want suggestions from your experiences.

I am on a student visa in UK & my fiance is a US citizen. My fiance visited me in London in Dec 2013 and we got engaged in March 2014. (We were not present in the engagement ceremony as it took place in Pakistan).

Now my present student visa is expiring in Nov 2014. (My fiance will come to UK again before that)

We were thinking to apply for a K-1 visa by the end of Decemeber.

I want to know that if it is better for me to get an extension in UK visa and apply for the whole fiance visa thing here in UK? Or shall I go back to Pakistan and file it from there?

My concern is that I am already done with my studies and the only reason I will extend my UK visa is to make the K-1 process faster as Ive heard that it is quick from UK.

No matter what embassy you go through there will be some administrative processing (AP). My Pakistani friend spent 8 months in AP in the UK before he got his visa. Also you have not filed the K-1 yet so it will take time to process your application.

Usually it is faster to get a visa in the UK compaired to Pakistan but can you get an extension on your UK visa for 12 or more months that's the question.
