So fine, not several million annually, half a million annually on average. My point is the same, most people come into contact with influenza once or twice a year and it does kill and it is an airborne virus so why not worry about that when it's all around instead of Ebola, that isn't?

I suppose the availability of effective vaccines (most of the flu fatalities are not only the very young and very old but those that do not get the annual flu vaccine) and the fatality rate is 10% measured on the severe cases - a lot lower measured on all cases. Ebola doesn't have an effective vaccine, there is no broadly available therapy and the fatality rates are in the 70-80% range. That said, is the panic that's visible here in the thread over the Ebola case in Dallas totally over the top given what has transpired? Absolutely.

There's an important difference between flu and Ebola that you're choosing to ignore: Ebola had never been seen in the US before. Since the preznit refused to restrict travel to Ebola-ravaged areas, that's all changed.
