Based on the state they live most certainly they will not be at TSC, but CSC.

Congrats to all the CSC approvals. :-) Maybe if I glare at the USCIS webpage hard enough, they will hurry up faster...

I'm almost positive that the state they live in doesn't always matter, though, lol. I've seen people all over the US get transferred all over the place, and our lawyer has seen that, as well. Besides, I live near Vermont. I know they don't have a lot of applications there, but why wouldn't they send me to Vermont then? And people over on the east coast have been placed at CSC, too. I think it's just a random luck of the draw. They just seem to pick and choose.

Hahaha yes, sometimes I think that if I just refresh it one more time, it'll change...

Sorry but unfortunately the way it works now us east coasters are stuck with TSC unless they deem there is such a backlog for a transfer. The middle of the country and the west coast get CSC. That is what happened earlier this year for quite a few persons. Vermont no longer handles K1s.

Texasav8r was kind enough to make up a post and a map about this in March. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/498833-where-will-your-i-129f-petition-for-k-1-be-processed/ Hope this clarifies. There's a method to their madness. A very unpleasant and mostly unfair one, but a method nonetheless.

it actually does matter all the time. Petitions are "Initially" routed to the Service Center depending on where the petitioner lives. But then some gets transferred over to other service centers due to back log.

That doesn't make sense, though, because right now TSC IS backlogged. The USCIS website states that. Then why would some people from the east coast be transferred there, but some people not? That doesn't really make sense to me. That's not how that worked before- at least not according to my lawyer! Their office told us that they, of course, will try to put people closer to where they live, but it really just depends.

Plus it still lists Vermont as a place for K-1s on USCIS. Did they just recently stop taking them or something?

I don't know. I mean it makes sense, but that doesn't seem to be how it always works. Why would some be transferred and some not? That doesn't seem to depend on the state they live in! Otherwise they should be transferring ALL of us, seeing as CSC is getting approvals within weeks and TSC, well, we all know how long they take...

If that's the case, man, I wish I knew.. Would've moved or something! hahahaha

Idk, doesn't matter all that much. I just want people to update their timelines & service centers so we don't get confused or false hope either way, loll! :)

but then again when did USCIS ever make sense? ....as far as the initial routing goes its pretty straight forward but after that USCIS is very inconsistent. Sometimes they transfer some petitions over to CSC when they are backlogged sometime they don't.

Hi fellow October filers, my fiancee mailed our I-129 on 14 October, he got NOA1 via text on 21 October. we have still not received the hardcopy. Is it normal?

Hello!

We have received our NOA1 on the 28th of October and no hard copy yet. I do not know is that important document? I know exactly that NOA2 hard copy is important, but how about NOA1?

If you look at the big thread ''if you've been transferred'' you can see which months the applications were sent in that the USCIS decided to transfer out of TSC and over to CSC. Large batches of persons (so any persons from any state TSC handles) were transferred. If your lawyers office told you what they did, they are not providing correct information. I can recall one person recently who was sent to Vermont, it seems to have been done in error, and they were transferred back to their correct service center.

In 2013 Vermont transferred I-129 cases over to CSC. This is not the same as our I-129F K1 forms. But yes, they haven't done K1s for quite some time now.

And I quite agree, makes me feel a crazy desire to go move out to LA. ;-)

NOA1 is the formal letter that tells you they have received your application, and that they have paid for your application. It also tells you what service center you have gone to and the number to check on your case status at the USCIS website. :)
