It means the USCIS has entered your petition into their system and assigned an A-number (Alien Registration) to your case. It does not mean they are close to approve your petition or anything like that and usually means more waiting.

NOA2 approval time varies case by case. Prior to August 2014, CSC was known to have been pretty quick with their approvals but that has changed recently. Don't be surprised if your case takes 5 months (or less or more).

Day 1: filed K-1


Day~60: NOA2 in mail.


Day~120: HCM Consulate received case & mail out letter about Medical Exam & stuff.


Day~180: Interview.

Just wanna give yall's an update our K1-Visa has been Approved! Just got text message and email today 10-7-2014, NOA1 was received Sept 5th 2014! Im so siked and happy me and girl are 1 step closer! Now onto to NVC! Im surprised that it was so fast I'm not gonna complain tho. LOL.
