Does anyone have recent experience with the interview process in Vietnam?

Do you still need to have any document in the local language be translated to English? Also, after submitting DS-160 on line, do you still need to send/mail in the confirmation page along with two visa photos and copied of passport?

Thank you.

My fiancee just had her interview on 9/23.

You need to submit a copy of the DS-160 Confirmation Page (last page with barcode), 2 visa photos, and a copy of your VN passport to the consulate for pre-interviewing processing. The rest of the required docs will be needed at the actual interview. You should wait until you have received the Packet 3 letter before filling out your DS-160 form online. I'd suggest you wait 2 weeks after the consulate has received your case to email them about the Packet 3 if you have not received it already.

My fiance received the letter from the US consulate instructing her to apply for DS-160. It just that the people who is helping her with the steps is telling her she does not have to send in the confirmation page and have any documents translated.

Frontgear, did your fiance follow all the steps from the instructions? What was the interview experience like?

We had our interview a little over a week ago and we did not get anything translated. I can't absolutely guarantee it but I think the people advising your wife are correct.

Thanks RichP. I read the instructions over again and it states that documents not in English or Vietnamese have to be translated. So, I guess Vietnamese documents do not have to be translated.

You will need to submit the DS160 Confirmation Page with your Packet 3 docs. You will also need to bring a copy of it to the interview. Whoever is telling your fiancee that she does not need to send it in doesn't know jack. I handled all of the paperwork for my fiancee and accompanied her to the interview so what I am telling you is my first-hand experience.
