I AM SOOOO CONFUSED!! I called NVC yesterday and they said that i needed to wait 20 business days for my AOS fee to unlock since my case was just received on 9/17. I had sent NVC an email in late August and received a long email from them today. I don't think this is my welcome email because it doesn't state that anywhere. AOS is still locked. The first part is what is so weird:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: CDJ********** filed by ***** on behalf of **********.

A packet containing the Affidavit of Support Processing Fee Bill Invoice was sent to the petitioner for this case. The fee must be received before the petition can be processed further.

To make a payment go to ceac.state.gov and follow the instructions to submit the fee using the Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center. To make a payment you will need the following information, which is included on the fee bill invoice:

* The NVC case number

* The invoice identification number

If you are unable to pay online, you must submit your fee using the alternative payment option by submitting a cashier's check or money order. For alternative payment instructions please visit the following website:

http://nvc.state.gov (See Step 2 - Pay fees)

Once the payment is received and processed, you will be given instructions on how to download the instruction packets and the appropriate forms online. You will need to mail the appropriate forms to the NVC in order to complete your immigrant visa processing.

:wub: God's timing is always perfect. . . :star:"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!" (Luke 1:45) ^_^

I-130 Petition (Spouse): 2/20/14: NOA1; 8/18/14: NOA2

Whoa. That's odd (at least from my stand point) I am looking through all of my e-mails and have never received something like that. Time for the call up to the good ol' NVC in my opinion!

My hubby is a U.S. Citizen. I am a Canadian citizen. I have no idea why its taking this long. We hired a lawyer so that things cld go smoothly. However, our lawyer's paralegal made a stupid mistake on our AOS and our lawyer overlooked it and we got a checklist in July.

Weird still, a checklist response shouldn't take so long! I'm sorry you're going through this. I just sent my packet yesterday and they received it today. I don't know when they'll enter it in their system, but I hope soon and I hope all is good.

My case updated once at 6:30 pm and I have gotten e-mails mid day to after midnight. I doubt if anyone knows. The NVC is like the Masons, so much mystery about how they work. Someone should produce a movie "The many mysteries of the NVC" LOL I have to laugh to keep from crying at this point.

I love how efficient NVC is. Spoke with Gus and he basically said that although the email says they sent it out, nothing has been sent out and the AOS fee has not been processed. Said my case was still in its opening days, that he was sorry but that I needed to wait up to 20 business days for AOS.

Sadly enough this is so typical for the NVC. I remeber when my AOS fee was in process of becoming availible, I sighned in to check for it and the site said " your application is being TERMINATED" I was in the Philippines at the time visiting my wife and freaked out. After a exspensive call to the NVC I was informed nothing was wrong and my invoice should be availible soon. This has been a roller coster ride.
