Ugh - Just checking in everyone. We are (im)patiently waiting -- after thinking we had all the documents ready to submit to the NVC we found out we couldn't use the police certificate that we got from India, rather we needed the police certificate from the Embassy of our country that we currently reside in.

Clarify: My husband is an Indian national and we live in Switzerland - we had a police certificate issued from India (from this year) and after calling about 4 times I got conflicting information on whether this would be acceptable or not (on the website it states that Indian police certificates aren't available for residences outside of India - however my husband went there, got the certificate and came back for this reason). Anyways long story short some reps were saying that it would suffice others said that it wouldn't. So now we must wait an additional 4 weeks to even start our processing

I know I could 'take the chance' and send it off but to be honest we really need to head to the US before the end of the year (or at least heading that way) due to circumstances and I would just rather wait the additional weeks and not rush it to ensure we are doing it right.

Thought I'd share just incase others are around here in the same situation. Let's hope they process it fast but India and processing fast usually doesn't go hand in hand

I feel completely sick :crying: I was check listed for my AOS, after hearing nothing for 93 days. I'm check listed for putting down my foreign income, rather than adjusted gross income from america, which is 0 because I was living and working abroad for nearly 3 years. Am I missing something or is that part unclear? I may not have read it properly but I can't see where it says 'must be income earned in america. I don't get it. I filed taxes every year and i submitted the three years of my foreign income. WHICH DOESN'T MATTER ANYWAYS because we are going with assets only.

It looks like it will be at least 5 more months without my spouse. This is so frustrating. Is there anyway to get checklists processed faster? It says 'please allow 60 days' but that's what it said for my AOS in July and it took over 90 days to review.

well i called NVC….so the checklist my lawyer sent on sept 7….its NOT in their data base…so i need to send it again…..YES I am feeling sick right now…..lot a whole month….a WHOLE WONTH>>>>.. apparently my lawyer sent the documents again…today…so i will call them every day until i get a confirmation….

i would suggest you call them everyday until you get a confirmation…i am going to.

i cannot even think straight…i am so angry and frustrated….

Hello targetnovember14 yes my aos checklist i received Sept 5 but I sent in docs on Sept 10 and they can see them in the system but the birth certificate they wanted a different one so I sent an email with that attachmt on Sept 25 and I have called everyday and they dont see it so I resent it on oct 3 and I calked again and they cant confirm the email for sept 25 or Oct 3 so I am worried where are they if they are EP? At this point I do not know what to do???? I am worried that the will look at the Sept 10 docs and dont see anything else and they will release the aos but put back another 60 for the bc thst i have sent and they dont see. The operatirs give this lame stories of how they are behind but everyone that sends EP you can see what is sent on the next day or day after. Has this happened to any body at all. Thanks targetnovember14 for responding

Hi, so it looks like you got check listed. I was wondering, I was check listed for 2 things...do I redo the paperwork with changing those two things only, or because we are doing assets only which requires me to put the contents of our savings, should I do an updated version of that, too? Basically do I just do what was asked?

Just curious what you did :goofy:

I would call NVC first to make sure exactly what they want. I didn't call because the emailed checklist was self-explanatory, but I was screwed because NVC sent me the wrong checklist....which I didn't find out until we were already into September.

Fill out all new forms. Do not just fix the mistakes on the old form. But seriously call NVC first and ask for a supervisor to explain your checklist to you. Make sure you understand it before you get off the phone. All the supervisors I have talked to have been helpful and are willing to answer all my questions. Good luck! I hope you get to see the GNW soon!

He doesnt really need a copy since you will be interviewed. Just skim through everything before you go in to be interviewed. And make sure you fill everything out accurately before submitting.
