Not all of us have that luxury :P Since I moved here in 2011, I've always worked Black Friday, this year included. At least it won't be at 4 in the morning though with this new job I got earlier this year, phew! (My last job was at Target. SCARY place on Black Friday!!)

You made a mistake, so you received a penalty. A supervisor won't help with that as it's your own fault. Just fix the mistake and re-send the paperwork.

One of my best friends works 4am shifts at Target every week. She claims to thrive off the Black Friday stress, but... yeesh. It's probably just the fight or flight survival instinct kicking in -_-

Oh good lord, I would have never been able to do 4am shifts consistently. And I absolutely HATED worked Black Friday. Even at my little store, it was way too crazy. I can't even imagine in bigger cities.

I am definitely going to relish sleeping in till ~6:45am this year and going to work at 8am. Heck, maybe I'll even get to do some Black Friday shopping the night before!! I've never done Black Friday shopping before!!

Bonus, she has a frequently sick two year old, so she pretty much doesn't get to sleep anymore. Black Friday shopping is a good thing to avoid IMO, but that might be my fear of Boston crowds talking, haha. Online deals are where it's at! I get the day off but my big plans involve leftover pie for breakfast :D

Oh my...

Yeah, I'm guessing Boston is a little crazier than my old town of 20k people. Although, I'm in Fargo this year, so I'm thinking it'd be a little crazier. I might have to check it out, depending what time it starts this year! And oh yes, Cyber Monday (or week as it's turning out to be).

QUERY.

IN PAKISTAN IT TAKE 13 TO 15 DAYS TO GET POLICE CERTIFICATE , THAT WOULD DEFINITELY DELAYED MY PACKAGE TO COMPLETE AS I HAVE ALREADY PAID IV FEE . WHAT IF I SEND OTHER CIVIL DOCUMENTS NOW , AND SHOW POLICE CERTIFICATE IN INTERVIEW? IS IT GOOD OR NOT

You don't need a police certificate for Pakistan. Pakistan is listed as one of the countries, which do not require one.

You could send in your package and have it made later, in case they want it. My friend sent her package without it and it was accepted. You can call NVC go confirm, but then the reps might give you contradicting answers. Let me see if I can find the link.

http://islamabad.usembassy.gov/mobile//document_checklist.html

According to this, you need it for all countries besides Pakistan, in which you've lived. If you've not lived in another country besides Pakistan...then you're fine without it.

This reply to the poster was the only correct reply to their question. All the other posters sounding the alarm about checklists should probably check the Country Reciprocity Schedule to see what civil document requirements actually are for a given country before posting. That schedule can be found here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html

I think this thread would be much more useful if we adhered to these instructions:

"This thread is strictly for questions and progress. If you want to rant about this ridiculous process, please do so in this side thread here."

There is enough irrelevant chatter to make the thread difficult to use as a resource, but not even the moderators stick to there own instructions about this.

If my posts get reported, please just remove them as they're not immigration related, thus shouldn't be moved to an irrelevant immigration support/rant thread.
