Oh wow, is this taking several days? :( I just paid mine. I was planning on mailing my packages next week so it's okay I guess but still...

if nothing happens end of October 1 VA time, I will call them.. Just feel anxious as the AOS status updated to PAID in two days.

Don't know why this one takes more.. Again, I may just be being impatient.

Upd. Just went to check CEAC and AOS status shows N/A. Can't believe it!! will call tomorrow to confirm. But no changes for my daughter's case and we sent her documents weeks earlier than mine.

Great news... Hopefully the kiddo will follow soon for a real celebration.

When you call to confirm your CC, see if you could get to a supervisor to review her case so you both could have the same interview.

Response to hmscott:

"I finally got him on board to take this seriously in helping me...but I feel he has a bit of an arrogant attitude...that because he is Swedish he is a "desirable" immigrant.

But the truth is we have black marks on our case. The worst of which is he was traveling in the US last year without a proper visa and got caught...put in detention. The woman who dealt with his case released him without charge - she said He was "not a criminal, and the least of their worries", he flew home to Sweden...and then was denied a tourist visa a few months later...our i-130 was already in process- so they used that as a reason to deny."

You mean being turned back at the POE and denied at the Consulate didn't put a dent in his "arrogant attitude" !!!

Though a lawyer is probably called for here, little will be accomplished if your husband brings the same attitude to his next consular interview. I would suggest you work on your husband, make him somehow see the light and own up the process. For one thing, some humility will do him good on many levels. For another, when he gets involved in all the preparations he'll better equip himself for the expected hostile interview, considering his POE/Visa history.

I posted this in Sept filers- re posting here as that thread is closed...

Ok, I need an honest answer. Do we need an immigration lawyer? I am feeling overwhelmed by this process. I am still compiling AOS/IV packets...my husband has not been as helpful as he could be, I have been doing most of the research and figuring out how to do this whole process. I finally got him on board to take this seriously in helping me...but I feel he has a bit of an arrogant attitude...that because he is Swedish he is a "desirable" immigrant.

But the truth is we have black marks on our case. The worst of which is he was traveling in the US last year without a proper visa and got caught...put in detention. The woman who dealt with his case released him without charge - she said He was "not a criminal, and the least of their worries", he flew home to Sweden...and then was denied a tourist visa a few months later...our i-130 was already in process- so they used that as a reason to deny. But I feel that we will go through all this effort & expense and be denied. My good friend made me see the light tonight. She is an Australian married to a US citizen. She said we were insane to not have a lawyer...especially considering his "black marks"...I am now agreeing with her. I have written my husband an email that he will wake to in the morning. I am asking that we get a lawyer. If everything was perfect, it would still be difficult. If there is one thing I have learned on this forum, is that a lot of innocent and good people are caught in this process, and they don't have the "black mark" that my husband does.

Please, any advice would be welcome. Thank you.
