Hello,

Has anyone received the 60 days message from NVC even though they haven't sent any package to them lately? So NVC scanned my AOS package August 21st and sent me the 60 days message few days later. They Scanned my IV package on September 17th and send me the 60 days message also. I checked my e-mail this morning and found out that they sent me another 60 days message for receiving a package I sent to them September 30th, but the problem is that I never sent them any package on September 30th.

Probably they worked on one of your packet u sent, AOS I guess??

Hello VJs,

My NOA2 date is 09/30, currently waiting for NVC to receive file from USCIS. I read NVC wiki (Thanks Saylin!), however, I have following questions, if they been answered in the past, please forgive me.

--I noticed some people are posting that they sent AOS and IV package together? I thought we need wait for both packages to appear?

--for AOS, I am the petitioner and my income is over poverty line, I am expecting to submit I-864? can I fill out this ahead of time?

--Where can I find the list for IV package, do I need to send all originals? Can I send all originals from US itself, or beneficiary has to send it from overseas?

I just wanted to prepare ahead of time to save NVC's timeline.

Thanks so much for your help!

I sent all original docs, For us all we needed was the birth certificate for beneficiary (my wife) and Our marriage certificate. She sent them to me original and certified as well. Also, a photocopy of passport, but depending on the country your beneficiary is, you may or may NOT need the police certificate for NVC, as in my case they neither needed the passport pictures or the police certificate here, but will need it for the interview.

As far as the I-864 goes, if your income is over poverty line, then do the I-864EZ, it's 100 times easier to fill out, but make sure you qualify before you choose that one. It'll tell you 3 things to look out for and if all 3 apply to your case, then you can use that one.

Also, I sent my AOS and IV package together AFTER I paid for the AOS fee. Make sure you use the barcoded cover sheet they provide after you pay.

Despite the NVC operators telling many of us to send both AOS and IV packages together after the AOS fee shows "PAID," some here are interpreting the NVC website to wait until both fees show as "PAID" and send both packets together.

We chose to follow the direction of the NVC operator and sent both after the AOS fee was "PAID."

Our case has moved very quickly at NVC. We have both fees paid, completed DS261 and DS260 quickly. Received notice that documents were received and it will be 60 days to review them.

I personally don't know why you would wait to send documents if the NVC tells you on the phone to send both together with the document cover sheet.

RE-POST-------IF ANYONE CAN HELP--------

I am filling out my DS-260 and where I have to fill out my address details, it ask for any other address(es) where I may have lived afer I turned 16, I have lived in Australia for almost 5 yrs so logically I should just go ahead and fill out the address(es) in Australia. Now here's the twist my wife (petetioner) or her lawyer I should say, while filling out my USCIS (I130) application completely forgot to mention the part that I lived overseas. So USCIS had no info that I lived in Australia. Now when I submit my DS-260 , would I get a checklist of some sort, or would there be any sort of complications at the interview, as they might see it as we tried to withold the info. Is there any hope or am I completely doomed. Any help is much appreciated

All of this advice is personal so please consult with a lawyer if you are looking for the legal answer.

Basically, do not lie. Do not lie to USCIS and do not lie to NVC. It seems like you (or your agent) made a pretty big mistake with USCIS considering you have lived abroad for 5 years and that someone wasn't mentioned on G-325A which asks for all your previous addresses for a certain amount of years.

I do not think you are doomed, but you need to rectify the situation. The embassy and NVC are looking for an established history for you - what you have done with your life, where you have lived, who your family is, etc. You'll see all of that during the AOS and IV portions of the NVC process. I suggest you call NVC before submitting anything and ask to speak with a supervisor. I have no idea what they will tell you - probably nothing about USCIS as it's a totally different agency - but they might tell you that you need to fully and honestly complete the DS-260. I would be very careful in proceeding because once NVC or the embassy smell a lie or find inconsistencies, they will most certainly try to investigate further.

For those who recieved a checklist on 13.a.1. Do you have to resend a whole new AOS with supporting docs or just the i864 form with the correction.

I didn't receive a checklist, but I caught my own mistake on my joint sponsor's I-864 and his wife's I-864A (for this AGI vs. Total Income bull-sh!t). I had them complete the forms and I sent off the following:

  1. AOS Cover Sheet
  2. NEW cover letter explaining the resubmission
  3. Old cover letter that was with his AOS documents
  4. Corrected I-864 (joint sponsor) with a post-it note on the page pointing out the change
  5. Corrected I-864A (joint sponsor's wife) with a post-it note on the page pointing out the change
  6. Proof of citizenship (copies of passport biographic pages for both joint sponsor and wife)
  7. Tax Transcripts for previous 3 years (they filed jointly)

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
