CASE COMPLETE

Now I need the tears of happiness to stop. I have no idea how this transpired. Perhaps it was due to mine and my husband's phone calls to NVC and the Supervisor's this week. I guess it shows that it can pay off to persevere.

Our only hope now is that all of our VJ friends also get a CC soon and can be back with their loved ones as soon as possible.

Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you!!!

It seems like people are submitting their AOS before they pay their IV bill and even sending in their IV package before paying the IV bill. I was told to submit both packages together and I am still waiting to be able to pay the IV bill. I have only submitted the DS-261 last week. I have paid my AOS bill and have my AOS package ready to send. What is my best approach, send AOS now or wait until I pay IV bill? If I send in my AOS can I also send in the civil docs? Seems risky to send the civil docs without the IV bar-coded cover sheet.

I check daily to see if I can pay the IV bill yet but it still appears as $0.00 and no applicant name under the IV Application Processing Fees section of the Invoice Fees page of the website.

Anyone know if the police certificates are acceptable with only name or should the passport number also be listed? I have seen them both ways for my husbands country.

old process people were sending it seperately and some even sending the IV before the bill was generated.

The NVC website now clearly states the new process and to send everything together. I dont know how true it is but it also states if you send it seperately it will cause delays now (I guess we will know if thats true once the process really get going. It came into effect around September 14th i believe)

All praise is to the one most High, CASE COMPLETE!!!

Last Scan Date: 09/19 IV Package, 08/14 AOS package

Got a checklist on 10/21 to submit wife's original documents (birt certificate, marriage certificate) instead of copies (they were certified copies)

Instead of getting the original documents from overseas, I called multiple times until I spoke to a superviser. He asked some time to review the file.

It took about 1 week for him to receive the file.

And today it was reviewed by the same superviser and case completed. AOS status changed to N/A within 10 minutes of superviser confirming case complete.

Thanks for the reply.

The thing is, there are two different case numbers from NVC.

One for wife and one for step son.

Though stepson IS! listed on wifes I-130.

From my understanding, Two case numbers, Two IV Bills.

I have my brother gone through the same issue, wife with one child, he paid for wife only though two case numbers but one IV bill was paid, child is minor !!! I m not expert but this is what my brother gone through. Thanks .

Halloween is one of my most important holidays of the year and it just brought me the news that Nebraska has OFFICIALLY shipped my file to NVC. *excite*

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

do not know about police certificate.

you can submit both packages now before paying IV fees. use AOS cover sheet for aos. use AOS cover sheet for IV package and just scratch out AOS on attn: CMR AOS line so it reads attn: CMR, and mail together in one envelope.
