Wow thanks... Good news my AOS is 9.3.14 and IV 10.6.14 but, the lady I spoke to said that they may review both at the same time. I hope so. Please keep in touch and let us know any good news.

Sure no problem!

NVC merely goes over the package and makes sure everything is in order, they don't truly "accept" it. That's done at the consulate/embassy. NVC is basically a middle man collecting fees and documents and tries to make sure everything required has been collected before sending to the consulate/embassy.

Thank you for your reply Saylin.

One last question I was browsing US Embassy Islamabad website and came across Common Application Mistakes tab. I clicked on that and under Incomplete Affidavit of Support section, I saw this regarding household size.

Incomplete Affidavits of Support (I-864)

  • Household size includes everyone living in the sponsor’s house, even if they are independent, and any other individuals for whom the sponsor has already filed an affidavit of support.

My I864EZ has household size of "2" me and wife. Since my wife is the only applicant and I do not have any other dependent besides my wife. So, is it going to be something to worry about during interview at Islamabad embassy? I am asking this because I won't be able to be there with my wife at interview.

I live with my parents and 2 sisters in the same house but do not support any of them financially and no one is listed dependent either in my tax returns.

Thanks again.

Personally I disagree with that definition of household size. They'll tell you at the interview if it needs to be fixed.

The random cc with Sept scan date are not for checklist they are for Iv packages that had AOS scan during August.. Checklist still taking 60 days to get review. :( I got one pending with a scan date of 10/3 and I'm praying to get something before thanksgiving..

Send them together and pay the fee now. I talked to someone last week at the NVC, and they said as soon as we get the papers in the mail with the document cover sheet, we can go ahead and send it all. The IV fee is associated with the DS-260, the Immigrant Visa form. If you're not able to pay it and you paid the AOS one, you should call them and ask for the invoice number so you can go ahead and pay.
