Nothing we can do but pray to Allah and hope for the best. I was expecting a Dec interview as well looks like with the change of processing its looking more like January. Going to be missing our anniversary and wife's bday. Extremely frustrating,... i hate the feeling of not being able to do anything whatsoever. Cant even contact my congressman/woman because they are just going to say well that's within normal processing time.

Yup. I was also hoping for a dec interview and am still hoping for it :( what's ur scan date? Mine is sept 10th. I hope I don't have to deal with Nvc in the end of the month when they are actually on holidays.

Thank you BOS_LHR!!!

I think i'm one of the first few to follow the new process. I hope all goes well for all of us.

~ Sofi

Generally the AOS and IV fees are only payable at the same time if you have a lawyer have not needed to submit the DS-261. For people without lawyers, once the DS-261 is processed the IV invoice will unlock for payment.

Hey jcruz! Did you receive a 60-day wait letter? I received two, both at 7am, one on Saturday (yeah) and one on Monday (today). The letters are identical except for the date (I'm assuming one for each package, even though we sent them both together). If you got it, what day did they say they received your docs? Because by calling we found out the scan date was the 24th, but the letter states

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 23-OCT-14.

We are currently receiving an increased number of approved petitions from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. As a result, we are experiencing increased review times for documents received.

We expect it will be at least 60 days from the date we received your mail before we complete the review of your documents. We will notify you when we review your documents.

We are working to reduce these processing times and we appreciate your patience.

I don't think this matters at all, but I was curious. :)

I called and spoke to Olivia and got an official CC, also with a scan date of either August 29 or Sept 2 (have heard both) and also with a case complete on Saturday Oct 25. I do not think they work Saturdays, but I do think the system updates whenever it updates and that's the date that it's "complete."

So I still don't understand the scheduling interview part. Doesn't it depend on the embassy? So does NVC only call them to schedule at those times? I read the first page of the interview thread, I just think it's crazy. I guess I'm not surprised though, since this is the NVC.

msc13, Samreen and dear sweet Soloenta, all of my thoughts and positive energy are going towards you guys to be done with this BS as soon as possible.

Yay, official congrats! :dancing:

For interviewing: each consulate/embassy sends NVC every so often a schedule of openings for interviews. NVC then schedules those opening slots from those with case completes. So, yes, it depends entirely on how busy the consulate/embassy is. If you want to get a good estimate of when you'll be scheduled, check the wiki I wrote as I provided a few links in the interview section ;)

Thanks Saylin! That helps and makes more sense. Unfortunately there just aren't a lot of Chilean timelines to look at on VJ. I've looked through the wiki, the timelines and at dwheels spreadsheet but there's only a few recent ones to go off of, and those were scheduled about 3 weeks to 1 month after case complete. I am planning to go down for the interview and just want to let work know asap, obviously because they are being really great about letting me go at all with such short notice.

Yeah, obviously the less members from a certain county, the harder it's going to be to get a good estimate. Guess you'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it won't be too long before your interview date is scheduled. Glad your work is being nice about this. That's always good!

*shrug* I wouldn't think so. They'd be closed on just the US holidays as well as any other local holidays. Besides that, they should be open and taking interviews.

Hello VJ, we are really hoping to be cc the first or second week of Nov and Dec interview. Praying! Scan date Sept 24. Any cc for Sept?

We have the same scan date.

My guess is that we would get case complete by Nov 27. One can dream though!
