Alright folks, need some feedback on this:

Once 2015 hits, I'd like to only use the newer spreadsheet that has a lot of dates (more data points, yay!). So, I'm thinking that I should probably stop having new additions to my old layout, so as to hopefully get everyone currently on there to finish before 2015 hits. I'm thinking that as of November 1st, I'll remove the 'add' option on the request form for my old layout. I'll obviously leave the 'update' option for those already on there to keep updating their line. Not entirely sure yet what I'll do come 2015 for those still on the old layout, but I have 2 months to figure that out :jest: As for the request form for the new layout, nothing will change. This is just for the old one.

Anyways, thoughts anyone? I'd rather not keep two layouts going in 2015... And since I prefer the newer one as a lot more data can be extrapolated...

I was snooping around using LinkedIn (since I'm in insurance I use it to get clients based on certain criteria s), I thought I go ahead and see what's up in National Visa Center and I've noticed since 8 months ago they've been hiring a lot of people especially people out of University / College and saw a couple of grandmas.

One user on LinkedIn posted that Visa Processing Specialists are required to meet quota of 12 petitions per hour with no more than 3 errors per week.

I know its not important info but thought I just share. I'm trying to keep myself busy so I don't go insane with this wait. :)

Actually that is rather interesting. Thanks.

Any time, what is also interesting is they have 400 employees on contract basis at the National Visa Center which I think is low. Since they process 400,000 applications per year and have 2,000,000 at the office in the given year.

I think your plan makes sense. It will be nice to compare as many timelines as possible so just one would be great. I guess on the November thread start letting people know the plan to phase out (I know you've said that, but make it very clear) then hopefully more people will join! I never really look at the other one anymore.

By the way, my AOS changed to n/a yesterday. Last scan date is debatable. I was told they scanned my IV package on Sept 2, but they received it on Aug 29, and I've been told both dates as my "scan date" by different reps. I'll put in for an update after I get an official confirmation by calling in the AM. If it's true then I made it through with no checklists and literally could not have done it without you Saylin, and the rest of the VJ family. I really don't know how people do it without this community. The NVC should contract with you to create new instructions and save themselves a lot of time and energy! Can you imagine if the instructions for these forms ACTUALLY worked to fill them out correctly? It would be a miracle!

Thanks again for all the help and support.

Hi Saylin.

I learnt this invaluable thought a few months ago:

"If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always got".

Try something new! If it works for you.... sensational! If it does not work, create a new system that works for you.

More data that is easier to access, I believe, is a good thing. Knowledge is power!

Hoping to hear from NVC in the next couple of weeks...want to start having things ready to send off when the time comes.

I have to use a joint sponsor since I have lived out of the US for two years now. Since I'm in Australia and will be getting their information from America, is a photocopy of the I-864, his passport, his taxes, etc. okay? I've read before that some documents NVC wants certified copies of (like my and my husband's marriage certificate). Will these documents from the joint sponsor be okay as just scanned through and emailed to me or do I need to get him to send me hard copies?

Yes. We are so unfortunate in this process it's unbelievable :( mine is sept 10 or 11th though ( both dates given by representatives) so the max they can drag me is 2 weeks more. Then I can officially yell at them :( but I was praying for dec interview which seems not very likely due to Nvc suddenly getting slow. God it keeps happening to us.

Timeline

First we were screwed by USCIS for 10 long months and now by NVC for 8 long months... This nightmare over the last 18 months has just withered down most of us completely.

At this moment I can only hope for some miracle to save us, and I just wish and sincerely pray that no other new IR1/CR1 visa filer should ever have to experience what we've been through.

NVC please have some mercy!!!
