should I go by the AOS received? i received two letter with 60 days review. So my question is will it take 4 months to review everything?

No, it will not take 4 months. NVC is currently reviewing both packages at the same time. Count 60 days from the latest date so you have a realistic idea of when you will have a response/CC.

 God's timing is always perfect. . . :star:"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!" (Luke 1:45) ^_^

Here is the direct wording on my confirmation email:

22-OCT-14

Dear Sir/Madam,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 03-OCT-14.

We are currently receiving an increased number of approved petitions from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. As a result, we are experiencing increased review times for documents received.

We expect it will be at least 60 days from the date we received your mail before we complete the review of your documents. We will notify you when we review your documents.

We are working to reduce these processing times and we appreciate your patience.

Hope that helps....

Thanks Kanuck, and to all the others who posted on this. Hope everyone gets their case completes without checklists!!!

thanks for your response and yes that is what i am worried about. they received the aos on 9.5.14 and my IV on 10.6.14 which they sent me two letters saying it will take 60 days.

what i have noticed on a lot of ppl that shows dates received that its taking 60 days from when the AOS was received. hopefully and praying to God that it's like that. :clock:

I think those October and later September scan dates are mostly checklists when there was still a original package to review. Mostly AOS checklists that were reviewed together with the IV packages with scan dates of mid to later August. I think they are nearing the end of August and into early September. But of course, this is NVC and there are exceptions and random outliers in all of this.

I have a tip for those who don't enjoy being on hold with NVC for almost an hour: when you call them, rather than pressing 1 for English, press 3. It is picked up by the exact same reps and they give you the same type of info about your case, but the wait time is about 15-20 mins. I was given this tip by one of the reps, Tessa, and it worked for me.

My timeline for NVC processing:

May 4, 2014 Submitted DS261

May 7, 2014 Paid AOS fee

May 12, 2014 Received an email confirming that my DS261 (agent registration) form has been processed

May 15, 2014 Paid IV fee

Last scan date: July 22, 2014 NVC received my IV and AOS packages (mailed together), date confirmed in the email on Aug 5, which also told me that it will take at least 60 days to process

July 25, 2014: Submitted DS260

August 6, 2014 Requested an expedite

August 8, 2014 Got an email from NVCExpedite asking for two phone numbers

August 8, 2014 Responded with two phone numbers

August 15, 2014 Received an email from NVCExpedite which states: "The US Embassy or Consulate is willing to expedite this case once we have all the fees, forms, and documents. We received documents for your case. Please allow 60 days for us to review your documents."

August 15, 2014 Called NVC, the rep told my husband that while the Embassy has agreed to expedite my case, NVC will still take at least 60 days. The reason that NVC cannot do it any faster is because they cannot sort through all the mail to locate my case.

September 16, 2014 Got a checklist for a divorce decree, the original of which I submitted. They said it needs to have a stamp, even though it was issued by a US judge, whose office confirmed that their original decrees do not have stamps. [/background]

September 29, 2014 Mailed a copy of the decree with a certification and stamp attached to it. The judge's office in Lancaster county, Nebraska, said that this is how they certify their documents. They still do not put stamps on originals or copies themselves.

October 2, 2014 Checklist scan date

October 17, 2014 AOS fee changed from "paid" to N/A

October 20, 2014 Case complete confirmed by calling NVC.

I am one of those October checklist CCs and my AOS and IV had the same scan date, because I sent them in one package. This rules out your theory, at least for my case. I think that NVC has spme kind of process where they re-review some of the oldest cases (to make sure that people can move on eventually rather than spending a year at NVC). In the past, they used to forward your paperwork to the embassy, even if they thought it was incomplete, after 60 days. Now they don't do that, but I think they still try to review the older cases first, along with the regular cases which are reviewed after about 55 days. I think this is too complicated for their reps to explain, so they just tell you 60 days, but some reps have hinted to me that checklists may be reviewed faster.

I just received a false checklist requesting for Original Marriage Ceritificate, Birth Certificate of Applicant, and PCC .. I have send all with AOS Package.. I don't know.. what they did with the documents...

Did you any one received false checklist ? How did it come out ?

Is the checklist for AOS or IV? Those documents are supposed to go with IV. If you sent both AOS and IV together, they should have them already and you can give them a call to resolve the issue.

Is the checklist for AOS or IV? Those documents are supposed to go with IV. If you sent both AOS and IV together, they should have them already and you can give them a call to resolve the issue.

I called NVC yesterday after 7… after 20 tries got it … was on hold for 35 minutes.. Initially I was really scared because thought they lost my documents… these AOS reviewers sometimes separates the IV documents.. since handling 1,000’s of cases they might get lost in transit to another unit..

The rep checked my case… AOS is approved and DS-260 is fine… but few notes from case reviewer that’s why it landed in check list…

Marriage Certificate – Reviewer notes it’s a duplicate.. Need Original one… My marriage certificate from India is in black and white... with original color signature and blue seal of the county. They use low quality paper not like US certificates… Also India has two kinds of Marriage certificates… one for special marriage act in color stamp duty paper but without photographs.. and another one for marriage registered after religious ceremony black and white with copy of your photographs .. and the format is different for each state… I told them I send the original with AOS… it is the original and if I go to get another certified copy you will get the same black and white with original seal and signature because thats the format they use from 2011.

Applicant Birth Certificate – Reviewer noted inappropriate … Actually she was born in 90 and certificate was obtained in 99… state government implemented computer records for this birth and death certificates in the mid 2000’s… before that they type or write with pen on a color stamp Duty paper with seal and signatures… She was one of the few who had her certificates from 90's. I think after mid 2000’s they introduced a new format.. now most with people without original certificates can obtain the new one.. this is also printed on a color stamp duty paper… I mention the original was send with AOS

PCC- Missing… I already submitted 2 PCC’s (Passport Office, District police office). District police report only needed for immigration to middle east countries..

The rep name was Jack.. he said he doesn’t know which documents they reviewed… but He will putting a request for supervisor review…He said time frame depends on sup workload… but told me to call back after a week.. I didn’t get much energy to explain because I was distracted after hearing this.. I will call back again discuss the case status… The certificates are genuine…also in English… and I know few who already immigrated this year with these certificates.. I believe it depends on some reviewers or he/she reviewed something else L ….

My spouse will get another copy of Marriage certificate and birth certificate in new format… but it will take 1-7 days plus mailing and reviewing time… I wish to get CC in October … I am believing for a miracle…
