3 days after I got the AOS checklist, I requested an NVC expedite and it was granted. So, this morning when I check my Visa status it said at NVC and I called, they guy say it looks like they cleared the mail which means they must have find them to send to embassy but I really dont know. Anyway, I just checked CEAC and I saw this:

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center. How can I have an interview date when NVC told me they no longer has anything to do with the case? Or is this a generic message. How and when am I going to get interview date?

SEPTEMBER 19th , 2014 - MY AOS WILL BE REVIEW WITH NO CHECKLIST BECAUSE MY GOD IS AWESOME AND ABLE!

September 16, 2014 - [AOS Checklist received] - I had to find a new sponsor who meet income requirement.

September 19, 2014 - sent expedite request again with doctor's note....

September 22, 2014 - receive email that expedite is under review.

September 23, 2014 - Checklist sent to NVC

September 25, 2014 - Expedite request approced

September 31, 3013 - Case shipped to NVC / IN transit

October 10, 2014 - Case Ready

October 14, 2014 - Picked up Packet 4 from embassy

October 15, 2014 - Medicals

October 28, 2014 - Interview - APPROVED

AOS just changed from Paid to N/A. But today is Saturday Our last scan date was 8/14.

I agree 100000%. Attorney was not only a waste of money, it cost us two months of delay due to an incorrectly prepared AOS!

Totally agree, I just got a checklist today for my AOS. :( attorney left a question completely blank and use the wrong income. Just cost us another 60 days plus all the time she had taken before to put the package together.. Save your money

I actually did the same exact thing with my husbands fathers bday and I called and they said it doesn't matter to correct it on the Ds-260

lawyer isnt really needed. you need to apply for overstay waiver, i believe it is i601 form. This site also has separate section for waivers so ask your question there. Embassy wont issue your husband a visa unless he gets waiver first.

Thank you Dee&Vee...I am trying to find it- the waiver section. This is just beyond...ugh.

As far as I know, you cannot make any revisions on it. I think the sign option is to print out a confirmation (I could be wrong). Complete is the status and I would think review would display all the information?

You could call NVC to make sure.

Ds260 is not for all the countries?

I thought they had changed to the online form DS-260. What country are you filing from? You can always call NVC to make sure.

lol I heard you! I'm so tired at this point off this process.. I honestly though this was the easy, faster part it had turn out to be a nightmare.. No updates as off yet.. :(

I thought it was the faster process as well. I'm not sure if it had something to do with many of the embassies shutting down the DP and they just got uber backed up (and realized how much load the embassy were taking off these guys) or they just decided to raise fees and make it super frustrating and hard for us to actually come to the country. Either way it's terribly frustrating with processes that don't seem to follow any type of norm.

I love how efficient NVC is. Spoke with Gus and he basically said that although the email says they sent it out, nothing has been sent out and the AOS fee has not been processed. Said my case was still in its opening days, that he was sorry but that I needed to wait up to 20 business days for AOS.

Hang in there! Hopefully your AOS and IV fee will both be unlocked at the same time like some of these lucky ones around here. I'm still waiting patiently or impatiently. Sending lots of luck!

Ohhh nooooo I'm about to cry ? I just got a checklist!!! Not sure I inderstand it but I knew my attorney had done something wrong...

That's sad Qbanita, post your checklist here so others can help you determine what it is asking and what corrections need to be made. Lawyer helped my case by bypassing the DS261 and saved me one month, but he made some mistakes on I-864 and thanks to this forum I caught them.

 

 

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.
8/6/2014: AOS and IV packages mailed, completed and submitted DS-260.
8/7/2014: AOS and IV packages delivered to NVC.
8/8/2014: AOS and IV packages put into the system (scanned).
9/20/2014: Get the 60-day email.
9/30/2014: Case Complete!
10/3/2014: Interview scheduled for November 7.
10/20/2014: Medical appointment.

11/07/2014: Interview.

11/29/2014: POE JFK.
