If he does not have insurance than you wont have any through him.

You can get your own health insurance, wait until you start working and your job will give you insurance or you can both get it under one plan. You have many options. Some people don't have insurance most of their lives. Our whole family did not have insurance for over 5 years before we signed up.

I don't think it will be a problem at all when it comes to AOS but i am not sure.

You will be able to buy your own, it's just going to be - guess what -expensive.

You won't have to have it for AOS, but - somebody correct me if I'm wrong - everybody has to have insurance or pay fine. That includes your fiance.

Regardless of requirements though, think about what happens with when you have to use some kind of medical services...

Ok, I see, yeah I could always get it for myself once I start working.

Yeah I am sure I won't be able to afford it, not at first at least.

I would like to hear about the fine thing from other people, hmm.

You can buy your own.

Not currently a requirement for AOS.

No, it is not required to have one for AOS. But I have to tell you this. Healthcare cost in the US is very expensive if you don't have insurance plan. I got one through TRICARE ( my husband enrolled me to dental program separately through MetLife). Just for information, I went to the dentist and if it was not covered by insurance plan my husband had to pay almost $ 400 and I already had 3 visits within 2 weeks ( not including the full examination and radiology that could be cost more). The last visit the regular charge was supposed to be $198 but my husband only paid out of pocket $98. The insurance had covered more than an half of the cost.

My suggestion is after you both got married, ask your husband enrolled you to health and dental program. You could try MetLife since they have a cheapest plan. My husband pays my dental program $11 each month ( I have TRICARE Prime for health insurance) and really worth it in case I stumbled in a big problem in the future.

MetLife dental health plan through Tricare is cheap for military family members. I believe it wouldn't be that cheap for civilians.

No, I think it is still cheap comparing if someone does not have any insurance plan. One member here said her husband had to pay around more than thousand of dollars to fix his teeth since he did not have dental insurance.

With Obamacare people do not have any other choices but have to get health insurance.
