You do know that investing in infrastructure is a sound economic measure? You do also know that stimulating the economy via infrastructure programs is not new and was not 'invented' by Obama? You do know that most economists agree that the stimulus packages were essentially successful? I guess because you posted this, you don't know that.

You do know that the govt. has a $17 trillion debt don't you? That's 100% of GDP of 2014.

I know that I know not one single soul whose community benefited from that money. I imagine it went the same direction as the recession bailout money.

Believe what you like. It doesn't change the fact that the stimulus package can be proven to have benefited the US economy. Whether every single $ went were it should have? Probably not, but I don't take a partisan view that Dems can be trusted and Repubs can't. They all do things that benefit themselves as well as their constituency. It was ever thus.

I know how countries run their economy and how such debt works, facts that seems to elude some. I am not sure what economic model people believe in who seem to want the government to run in the black. It doesn't and it will not no matter who sits in the white house or congress.

A 'fan' of the stimulus? That's an odd word to choose, but yes, I am sure that had the US not taken that course of action it would still be in recession. However you are free to laugh about that thought all you like.

Predictable that you didn't click on the embedded link. I'd expect nothing less of you though. <_<

Please, enlighten us on how it's good fiscal policy to carry a debt that is more than 100% of the ENTIRE nation's total economic output for one year.

Please show me where I said that the current situation is ideal? Considering the circumstances, it's better than it was and it can continue to improve but the fact is that the US economy dwarfs most economies in he world so everything is going to be on a greater scale, including debt. Mind you, I don't think it's sustainable to look at the US economy as an ever increasing economic machine. I have said this for quite a long time. However, we are looking at how things are, not how things should be in an ideal situation.

Please show me what the debt was when Obama took office the first time, what it would have been had he done nothing or if he had made different decisions? I am sure we are all aware that the debt didn't suddenly appear over night once Obama was sworn in, right?

That's a nice colorful map, I like it.

I think what you meant to say was something related to the topic. Please try again.

Not sure what your question is. The US, like all other nations operates with a national debt, not in the black. Expecting the US economy to suddenly pop into the black is naive, it's not going to, ever. Did the US economy get out of control? Yes, was it Obama's policies that caused it? No. Has the economy improved since he came into power? Yes Did the stimulus package assist in that process? Yes. Could it have been improved more? Provide an alternate economic model, we'll take a look. The question was, was spending whatever amount was spent to stimulate the economy a waste of money. Clearly, it wasn't.

Actually this thread is about Ebola, a potentially extremely serious problem, not about the economy, Obama, the stimulus, or any other axes which those with an agenda have to grind.

Hey, say that to him what rang the "off topic" bell just above (in an off-topic post, no less).

Imagine that: you being reasonable.

You are contributing to the derailment of this thread. Don't try dodging it and blaming it on someone else, although that is a common theme in your posts, blaming others. This thread is about a serious health issue.
